didnt they convert the friends of Manchester Ice Hockey to the Phoenix supporters club which would give a false figure as certain sections joined to campaign for a ice rink in Altrincham |

Im not sure on numbers for the fan club, but I know that there's around 150-300 Phoenix fans that have been travelling all around the country this year watching other teams play so they can get their dose of ice-hockey...Have none of them heard of Flintshire or Blackburn!?! A lot closer to home than Cardiff!!! lol |

Yes but they want to watch EIHL hockey (don't shoot the messenger) |

Fair comment really!!! But surely if they care about the game as much as they like to think they do, then they would go and show a bit of support for the more local teams and the up and coming players. I know the point you're making though and it's something I'd not thought of!!!
The question has to be asked though...If they will happily travel to Nottingham, Sheffield etc. to watch games...Then what happens if the Phoenix turn out to be a bit pants?! Will they then neglect their home team!?! |

Mark's right - a lot of Aces fans signed up to FOMIH simply because it was cheaper to get in.
The number of 150-300 travelling the country is a bit out. They sell 200 odd tickets for the Finals weekend in Nottingham. The (much smaller) hard core has travelled (including to Blackburn and Flintshire) but has been a lot less evident this last season. |

It's a bit of a worry that the hardcore element has been a bit less evident this season though. Or maybe that's because they've all been busy saving up fot their season ticket's!!! lol I hope the Phoenix succeed at this rink, don't get me wrong, but I doubt I'll go to more than a handful of games. Unless it's a quid a ticket!!! |

I cant even see them even doing kids for a quid to build a future fan base so confused you will have no chance lol.
Yet I agree with your point my visits will be limited due to costing as opposed to the product on the ice how every good or poor it turns out to be. |

Wishful thinking eh!?! Hahaha!!! Yeah, kids for a quid would be a good idea, but can't see it happening. The only time there was kid's ticket promotions was when the Storm were running out of cash (and ideas)and hey gave free tickets to the local schools...however, you had to be accompanied by a paying adult!!! I must say though, that this time around it does seem as if the people behind the scenes are going about things the right way and trying to get young British players on board. I'm all for that!!! I can't see me joining the Supporter's Club though!!! lol | |
