This is a nice gesture but doesn’t it remove an opportunity for the junior teams to charge a nominal admission fee to cover the cost of hiring ice time travel etc and assist with the running of the club as they don’t have a muti millionaire business man bankrolling them.
Also this is not meant as a criticism even if may seem to read that way just an opportunity lost
As I take it that ice time and the running of the junior clubs is not being financed by Mr Morriss |

I'm actually pretty suprised at the move, thought it'd be a couple of quid (which to be honest I don't mind paying for - it beats just throwing loose change in a bucket).
Also, can somebody put a programme aside for me next time so I get chance to buy one :D |

I dunno.
He might be having some financial input as seen as the Juniors are part of the Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club. AFAIK, they are not a separate entity. |

Unless I've been misinformed, Phoenix have provided the team shirts this year. Everything else is funded by the junior club's subs. |

The team strip was paid for by a private sponsor and the Phoenix were not involved. |

So the only Phoenix input is that they have to use there name I take it from the replys |

No, Mark.
I don't claim to be fully aware of what's currently going on with the juniors but the answer about the strip was provided at the same time as I was asking other questions about Phoenix involvement. The answer above is the one I was given a couple of months ago.
Pleasingly (then at least) people were very happy with the support and encouragement being provided by the senior team/management. Whilst the weekly training was going on in Bradford, a Phoenix player (imports and Brits) was also attending. The general situation then seemed to be a working partnership.
PS To add more positivity, the U16s seem to have had a really good result drawing 1-1 in Billingham on Saturday.

Speaking to Nipper he has nothing but praise for Neil and has said that we should all get behind him.
Comeing from Nipper that,s a lot.
So stop nit picking and hope to see some of you at the junior games before the end of the season.
Considering it's free that should mean that loads are there. Then again a lot of what some people say could be just talk?? | |
