Response to Case in Point

Can a mountain climber shake his hands at the face of injustice when he falls from 60 ft cliff that he chose to climb without "protection"? Is a parachutist a "victim" when his parachute does not open after he chose to jump out of the plane?

Perhaps, this boy gave his "tacit consent" to something as sure as gravity. I think that you might be justified in going all the way on this. The scary thing is that, as I look back at my boyhood, this could have just as well been me. I hope not, but it wouldn't be completely inconsistent with my adolescent mindset. I hope that I'm short-changing the thirteen-year-old-wcs on this.
