Dear 38th Bomb Group Veterans,
I've worked with some of you over recent years researching this incredible mission, with the intent to write an article for a military or aviation history journal/magazine as a tribute to you and the Group. I have to thank you for your great patience with all my questions. Unfortunately I've just experienced a computer hard drive failure that also caused the loss of emails from the last couple of years. If anyone still retains any of the email correspondence I had with you on this mission, request your re-transmission of those emails. And for anyone else who would like to share their perspective on that 10 Nov 44 mission against the Japanese convoy off Ormoc, I would love to hear from you as well. For example, did anyone see any enemy fighters that day, or any fighting between your fighter cover and enemy aircraft? For reference my new mailing address (on active duty in the USAF, still moving around)over here in Heidelberg Germany is:
Lt Col Terry Popravak, USAF
Unit 29101 Box 05
APO AE 09099-9101
Thank you for your service to our country, and for sharing your experiences.
Sincerely,
Terry |
