I've tried emailing sunsetter@attbi.com from 3 email address and each is returned: unknown address. So, I'm posting here.
I have my uncles MACR . Therein, are eyewitness reports from 3 airmen who saw the plane ditch and the crew escape into a life raft. 1 1/2 miles off Cebu Is.
The 3 witnesses were: Peter A. Conway, 1st Lt / Howard E. Nichols 2sd Lt / William L. Jones 2sd Lt.
My uncle was Sgt. Michael Rutigliano, of New York, KIA 11/1/44.
