Gentlemen:

I am one of the writers currently working on your book.
I was recruited specifically to make sure that the job
gets done and done right. I can't speak for what has transpired
before I came on board, but my co-writer and I have been going
at it non-stop since June 2005. The research material and
photographs are fantastic and have been providing an incredible
foundation for the telling of your group's story. I have strong
feelings about this project and have personally relinquished much
in order to see this work to its completeion, however I feel that it
is worth the cost. A tentative manuscript will be presented at
the reunion in September, but my team and I will continue working
on the final draft until the last possible moment. There are so many
compelling tales and courageous actions, that we are just trying
to do justice to the events in which your unit played a part. I am
grateful to have been able to take part in telling your story and I
am sure that everyone will be extremely happy with the finished product.
I wish that this book could have been produced many years ago, and
although I had no control over that, I can control what happens now.
Your members will surely see this book in print very soon, on that
you have my word. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to
contact me at ussbowfin@yahoo.com

Sincerely,
Stuart Goldberg

To whom it may concern,

I am the other writer working on your project, and am responsible for
covering the initiation of the Group through the end of 1943. Any
questions you may have regarding that time period I am more than happy
to answer to the best of my ability. Stuart (the other author) is
responsible for the years 1944 and 1945, and as he has mentioned, he too
welcomes any questions/concerns.

Here is some basic background regarding Stuart and I and "Saga of the
Sun Setters." I hope it clarifies some questions/concerns you may have.

I began working on the project in June, 2005. This is before our current
VP was with the company. Thus, the responses on this forum which state
that Stuart and I were assigned when our VP took the position are untrue.
We have been working on the project longer than that suggests, which
hopefully allays some of your concern regarding the recent timeframe of
the project.

Allow me now to clarify that the book WILL NOT be complete by the reunion,
but the majority of the mauscript will be. On a final note, I wish to
confirm what Stuart has said in that both of us are working very hard to
get the project done. Again, both of us are happy to address any questions
you have about the project or anything related to the 38th BG. I can be
reached via email at: mark.janko@colorado.edu.

Respectfully,
Mark M. Janko
