I must admit that a recent flurry of postings here made me realize that I was hoping it would continue and that this forum would return to it's former activity levels. But that may be unrealistic. The recent contest on the renegade side had a lot of participation from Minolta shooters. It also feels weird when I post the same thread on both forums (yes, fora ) just to be sure a critical mass gets to see it. As far as what Bryan might think, I hope we hear from him, but I'm guessing he won't miss paying for all the bandwidth.
Question: Would all those who currently check this forum on a regular basis switch their browsing habits to include the renegade forum? That is, would we lose very many of our friends by terminating this forum? Hopefully not. Should we start a survey thread to find out? If not many respond, that would be our answer right there.

It' s really just a mater of who's bed do we jump into. I can sleep (or play!!!) anywhere!
Minolta didn't come through for us! I (in my infinite wisdom) thought that the A-1=A-2=Z-1=Z-2= D-7=D-7UG=D-7i=D-7hi and the new
DSLR (whatever it is) would provide plenty of fodder on Minolta centered discussions & photos. Never happened! Everyone has drifted away,-- and even I have lost faith when you can go on really -- either Rebel or photo-share forum and find you are the only visitor in two days!!!!
Let the subject kick around and see what Sadie, Bryan, and Jim -- and
even me can suggest to get the "Family" back together!

and we'll all hop into Johns' bed.
My last couple of posts here felt like I was in an empty room talking to myself. Perhaps it could be left open for reference however. I just looked at some of the images from when we first split off from the tech forum a little over a year ago. Sure miss those "fish" pictures.

Due to age, I am not up to all those Kinky things now, so all I will be able to do is discuss why I forget to adjust camera settings.
The younger ones can remind me of the good old days, that is, film cameras.
Bryan has the right idea to leave for access to the threads.

Yes, it is pretty quiet. This forum was originally created to try to split off the over-posting of pictures that was flooding the other forum. Maybe we don't need it any more, but I don't see any reason to delete it; then you could not search the old threads. I would say that it is OK to post pictures in the other forum.

well I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling like this - we'd love to have everyone post in the Renegades forum! In fact, we've really wanted that from the start - in whichever forum.
As Bryan mentioned, this photosharing forum was originally created to split posting of pictures from more technical discussion of Minolta cameras.
I personally wouldn't mind where we had our little community meet up, but unless anyone else feels strongly about it, I think we can spare Bryan the bandwidth and use the bandwidth available in the Renegades forum.
Bryan's technical forum gets loads more hits and has gone over limit on occasion, so it must be more of an issue for him. And besides, the bandwidth is sitting there waiting to be used, so why not make use of it?
Remember, the Renegades forum is open for sharing photos and discussion of ANY camera: digital or otherwise, and not just for DSLR's. I myself have recently bought a little 3mp Canon point and shoot and have posted some of the pictures and I don't own a DSLR, but still have and enjoy my 7Hi. We've had film photos (scanned obviously!) displayed as well - great!
As Bryan said, I don't think it should be necessary to delete this forum, then we'd not be able to view old threads and admire pictures taken and posted before.
But if Bryan had the time and felt like doing it - it might be usefull to have a link to the Renegades directly from the header of this forum - with a line or 2 to say that this one will no longer be used? That way no-one will come here and post only to get no reaction - and they'll know where to find all their old friends. Just a suggestion!
Anyway, lets get back to enjoying sharing our pictures and photography experiences!

I for one would be more than pleased to see all of our old and new friends together on the Renegade forum. It would sort of be like the prodigal son (daughter) welcoming the father to his/her home (if you will excuse the stretching of a metaphore that much).
I have been on these forums as long as anyone and logged in a few hours after Bryan started things up. It was Bryan's forum and those who were posting that led me to get the D7 which was one of the best photographic decisions that I could have made. I have learned so much at these forums and enjoy all the friends that I have made.
I hope that we can get together and enjoy all the gifts of so many talented people.
