If you are a retired cabinet maker, master carpenter or just very tidy with saw, chisel and plane, have itchy fingers and sharp tools, some time to spare and a yearning to see a project succeed, I may have something to interest you. Male or Female.
I am looking for a couple of helping hands to re-build a 1980's river cruiser, almost from scratch. The reward will be the use of the vessel on the Canal du Midi. The vessel is in need of some serious woodwork, most of which has been purchased. This consists of Cherry veneered, polished and lacquered, mirror finished marine bitumen pitch ply with teak hardwoord trims and edges. Other teak items, such as decking and walkways will be required to compliment the work. All materials supplied, some tools to hand and health and safety will be be looked after. The occaisonal bribe in the form of cheese and pickle sanwiches and copious amounts of tea and coffee will be also on hand.
The installation of the above woodwork requires deft hand work and an eye for detail, not for the faint hearted!! There is no "programme", I have allowed a year for the work to be done. (The original boat was constructed from mould to water in 21 days!!)
I am trying to undertake this project on a shoestring, hence the trade-off in time on board as a form of recompense.
If you feel that you have something to offer..............make that call! You have nothing to lose, and some time on the French Canal du Midi is an awesome experience.
To find out more and have a chat about the project call Beaujester now, on 01202 887980 or email to: Beaujester1@hotmail.com

Bon chance!

Beaujester.
