I'm taping up tonight so I'll take a couple pics and post tomorrow.

19 days and it still came off in strips, np with cleanup.

Make sure you get the heavy duty wax paper so it doesn't rip when you take it off the st30.

If I didn't use the wax paper, the st30 collapses and sticks all together.

Starting to lay the tape:

Using the back of the scissors using extreme pressure along the edges:

Tape is layed:

Peel all the backings off:

One piece of wax paper GENTLY LAID on top of tape, do not put pressure on wax paper, you don't want it to stick too good or it will rip when removing from the tape:

Peel back just the front and lay it on the melon centered and get the front down and aligned good, then peel the rest of the paper and pull it back and lay it on the rest of your head:

E.Sniper thanks a lot dude for going through the trouble of taking pics....at first I had no clue what you meant by laying the wax paper but now its crystal clear.

One more question though...

When the piece is attached to your head do you go over the front again with more pressure (high/low) and what do you use to smooth out the front...I think BA suggested scissor ends with some 99 on them.

Ba and I talk about our methods for smoothing after attached in the following thread:

The tape looks quite wide.

Do you think you'd still get a good hold if you cut the tape width in half?

Many do, but I've got a 4 and 7 yo that I babysit and we get rowdy, they pull my hair and there would be too much stretch in the lace base and I'd get busted for sure.

Kids are super smart and the stretch in the base would not be natural, that's why I put a strip down the middle.

ah, i see...i don't think i'd have people regularly pulling at my hair.

u talked about getting busted with half width tape.

do u think the piece would be likely to come off under these circumstances (or a fight or something) if one was to use half width tape?

People here use only half width st30 np, it won't come off.

Just more bare lace which would allow more stretch if pulled.

Thanks....

PS - that technique with the grease proof paper looks really handy.

I don't yet wear but before i saw that had visions of me standing there trying to rip a piece of my scalp cos it had stuck before I'd get it into position.

I assume that after a while one would become confident enough to attach the piece without needing this crutch?

I still do it this way so I can focus on the front and getting it lined up right without worrying about the st30 collapsing on itself and sticking together.

Overall, approx how long does your attachment process take using this method i.e. sticking the tape on, sticking the greaseproof paper on and sticking to your head?

Re: E.sniper

I'm probably slow compared to the rest, but I get a perfect attachment every time, which is very important to me.

Piece removed the night before and ready to go in the morning.

Apply tape to piece, remove backings, get wax paper and lightly stick to piece.

Apply to melon.

Style.

Anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on how long fast I feel like doing it.

Once every two weeks.
