Before and after below. I have just had it cut in. I will have to give it some time to see if wearing is for me.
I had a great person to do my cut in and help with my very first attachment. This was a big help.
The thought of my first removal is a bit scary but I will give it a go!
Overall I am happy with what I have. It does feel and look a little poofy at the moment but I have read the countless posts about how the system will calm down after a week or two once they are worn in.
65% density would prob have done as this one seems very thick at 70%
As a fresh newbie I will prob stick with a covered hairline for a few weeks until I build my confidence. I will get an SFS for my next system and try to work an exposed hair line
Specs are
70%
Freestyle
Bodywave
French lace
I currently have it attached with ST - 30 including the hairline.
For anyone sitting on the fence... get one on and give it a go. Worst case scenario you pull it off shave your head and life rolls on!
I know I already feel better for at least having tried!
Any comments and suggestions welcomed. Sorry about the bad quality pics.
Thanks to John, BA, Sesster, Snipe, Jake and all those who post and have given me advice!
Just from the photos I would take a guess that it makes you look about 5-10 years younger. That looks a good style for you, Well done mate looks great.
Looks great, and I'm glad you ordered all french for your first piece.
Some others have ordered sfs fronts for the first piece and ended up ripping it just like I said they would.
No worries about ripping it, also knowing that the french will last longer than sfs.
I would suggest, since venting density is not a science, that you order 68% for you next order as 65% may be quite a bit thinner than that piece and may look quite different.
Again, looks great and good job researching and making the decision to wear.
And take the advice on shampoo and styling products so that piece will last once you start washing it.
And get the shower filter. With st30 I'm removing the tape and washing out the 99% in the piece while it's off my head right in the shower with Pureolgy, then condition. Then, when I reattach it's all nice and soft, ready to be styled without any leftover 99% residue in it.
a little hard to tell from the pics but what is certainly clear is the dramatic change! We can all see how much better you look from these photos. The style is very nice too! u must be so happy
Yule I sent in a colour sample and I was advised my colour is #2.
I just did my first solo attachment today I had an all st 30 on for 4 days.I am sure it would have held for as long as I wanted to leave it.
But I wanted to get in and have a practice attaching. So it came off very easily and tape stay on head clean up was sinch.
Getting the tape back on proved a little tricky. Heating the tape with a hair dryer does help get it nice and tacky.
I am still not exposing any hairline as the stylist had to modify the system as my template was spot on...
So unfortunatly the stylist had to cut into the front hair line.
So i have a few of those little suckers sticking up a bit but it isnt too bad.
I remember reading there was some way you can undo the knots? I feel if I could untie a few of the little hairs sticking out and give the knots at the front a good bleaching I could be able to expose the hairline a somewhat.
The last pic shows the current hairline situation... just the typical dark wall of knots across the front
Any suggestions?
I am more than happy to wear a come down style until I get my second rush order in which I have a new template for.
As I wear it each day I am getting more and more use to it. Although it is a hard decision to make at the age of 25. Do I commit to wearing for possibly a lifetime? Or do I just shave down and deal with it.
For all the newbies it is a very personal question that only the individual can answer. And it can only be answered after you have given wearing a go.

"Do I commit to wearing for possibly a lifetime? Or do I just shave down and deal with it."
That's a question we all ask ourselves to start with. I've been wearing now for 26 years and can't see the day when I won't be wearing. When I started shaving one's head was not an option, you'd have been targeted as some sort of social misfit if you'd tried that back then.
These days I only ever see myself without hair for 30 minutes or so 2 or 3 times a month when I detach, clean and re-attach the fullcap, and I sometimes wonder who's that stranger without hair looking back at me in the mirror.
You'll find that the longer you wear the stronger the illusion of having hair will become. So what if it's not real. I also wear contacts and rarely see myself with glasses on. You develop a self image that you're comfortable with and when you digress from that image it looks a bit spooky.
Of course this is exactly the sentiments the big hair salons thrived on - once they'd got you locked into wearing hair then they figured they had you (or more rightly your money) hooked for life. Unfortunately for them they didn't count on honest operators like TL coming along and offering their revolutionary services worldwide via the Internet.
I think it looks good! Im jealous too, Haha. I have'nt even placed my order yet. Not sure what to get, just reading what you guys are saying and watching for suggestions. But I am excited I found TL and you guys for guidence. It is a scary thing to commit to, ahve to agree with you on that one. Im 33, and know it will be a life time thing because I'm not one to shave me head. We're here because we look better with hair dammit! Haha. I want my hair back too! Haha. Im about the level of hairloss as you, so I know how hard it is. But once again, it looks good, nothing to worry about!
I have not ordered yet, but when I do start wearing, I hope to keep the same type of hairstyle, (just with more hair! haha). So you cant have an exposed hairline with just a french lace? What is an SFS? Think I missed something! HELP!
I was advised to get an all french lace and just use I-Glue, and it would be good for an active lifestyle, and would only have to remove it once a week to clean it and it would be fine. ? .
It looks good in spite of the damages caused to the hairline! Maybe the quality of your pics makes it hard to detect but I cannot spot a wiggy hairline here.
On the other hand, I'm not sure of the rear's blending; some locks stand out as being quite long and wavy, but maybe it's not the hairpiece?
Whatsoever, it makes me look forward to getting my own TL!
I'm 24 yo by the way, and I understand well your questioning; the difference is that I have an ugly strip scar, so I'm not left with many options. Too bad, the shaved look suits me well :-P But if you have never shaved your dome before, let me tell you that you'll still feel self-conscious about your hair loss. It's just that you won't lose your time anymore at trying to conceal it. Personally, I would have given it a try prior to wear a wig on.
The only downside if you decide to shave it off now and to get back to wearing eventually is that you'll need to grow out your sides and back again.... that's what I'm currently doing and it sucks! It takes a long time to reach an appropriate length when you've been slick bald; can you please tell me how long are your native hairs on those pictures?
I wish you to enjoy life because it's really a shame to lose our twenties because of hair issues ( I'm blaming myself through that message, not you ;-P).
I let my side hair grow really long... but in the end I dont think I really need it long as the person who cut my hair trimmed it all down prior to even putting on the TL.
After it was trimmed down a bit she then put the TL and blended.
SO I just in hindsight the really long side hair wasnt need.
If you are going for a shortish style I wouldnt think you would need super long side hair.
