I've been keeping an eye on your experiences with a full cap.
You see, I don't wear yet, but I'm the kind of person that has to think ahead and have a long term strategy for how I will wear.
I have good side hair at the min - so I'd be starting off with a topper.
If my side hair thinned significantly over the next 10 yrs, I guess that I'd have to switch to full cap.
So, I have 2 queries:
-Do you think daily removal is possible for a full cap i.e. do u think u could get proficient enough at being able to remove in a few mins and attach in 5 mins?
-I would only really be interested in shorter styles - so I I'm really looking forward to your feedback on what is possible here....
Will u be experienting to see if having the back & sides significantly shorter than the top is possible? |

If you have a skin perimiter, definitely.
5 minutes might be pushing it depending upon the piece design and how undetectable you need it to be to touch. You can slap a skin piece on your head in a couple of minutes if all you care about is getting it to stick, but if you are thinking you're gonna be having some fun with a new girl for the first time that night (or if you plan to expose hairline or the unit is cut very short) you are going to have to take some extra time with it.
Mine are all lace at the moment but I also have one I bought for an actor in my tv commercials that has a skin perimeter. Never put it on my own head, but skin is super easy to attach and remove with red liner tape or CP cream glue.

I just made my first full cap template and am planning on sending it in by next week, so hopefully within the next couple of months I will have another one that I can cut down as far as it will go.
I haven't posted pics of my second full cap yet, but the hair is much shorter on the sides than on the top. It's probably just over 1/2" at the shortest point. If I were to cut the top down to 1" I think a lot of people would be surprised at the "short style" even with my current piece. |

Thanks JRob... I'm confident there are loads of people interested in seeing how far the limits of full caps can be pushed and are watching for your posts. We'd really appreciate it if you could continue keeping us uo to date with the results of your experiments. |

Although I am as curious as anyone as to how short a full cap can go, I almost hesitate because that's not really my style. I like wearing the hair longer and the unit will almost be a waste. I don't want to wear short hair for 4 months!
I was also having an email convo with another poster regarding full cap temple points and how they have to be done right to pull off certain styles. I have noticed that on my current units it might be difficult to get them real short since some of the hairs in that area are going different directions.
I will eventually do a short one though, one way or the other. |
