This is caused by over bleaching and removing the colour from the bottom of the hair shaft. Using a little ADF to put colour back does help somewhat in this case.
The more I bleach , the more the orange goes away. On my front, I bleach up 3 time to make the orange go away , and it does and makes for a great hairline, but I eventually have shedding at the front.
Yea, I've become convinced that any bleaching that is strong enough to actually make dark factory knots invisible is enough to weaken the hair enough to accelerate shedding at least a little (possibly a lot).
My hair is pretty much black, so the only way for me to have truly invisible knots without faster shedding is to order the piece with fully blonde hair (#22 seems best) and color it and then bleach VERY lightly to remove any surface color that got on knots / lace.
Hair that comes dark knots from the factory is much more difficult to bleach (I think they use fabric dye?) than blonde hair that gets some standard type hair coloring on it. Literally one minute with debbie's bleach is enough.
by the way: Is really every Indy hair on the market first bleached to full blond and then re-couloured to darker tones? If so: WHY? I mean, for those of us who have dark hair, there might be a chance to match the Indy colour without ANY bleaching (or maybe a bit...) Wouldn't it be worth trying?
