Having worn many of both, I decided that if you really want a brush back style exposing the hairline, you should probably go with SFS in the front to be extra safe.
Really, you need to try both because everyone has their own set of needs and standards.
Having worn both, for me, french is invisible and SFS, however SFS needs a lot of "tending to" to get it to be really invisible. My current unit (custom SFS) and my first TL SFS was quite a surprise. I've been wearing all french and those I simply apply glue to the scalp, plop the unit on, press down on the lace for a few seconds and bingo, invisible.
SFS, on me (and a couple others who post here), takes a lot of work to get it to be invisible in the front. The lace pattern shows on me unless I'm very careful to get a good width of glue applied and the lace really down in the glue. French, I don't have to do that with, it simply disappears on me.
I wear my hair with a totally exposed front hairline (search for photos and if you can't find 'em I'll post some more back up) and on the thin (density wise) side.
No more SFS for me.
I'm a french person, for sure.
Hey Fred!!
I have asked this question before but it really wasn't addressed...Could it be you have the ideal complexion for french lace.? what do you order transparent french lace? or what...Thanks
Craig,
I do order transparent french when I order custom units from TL, however, having said that, I have gotten stock french lace units from TL and stock all french lace from another company and they all simply disappear for me without having to "mess with them"..
My scalp is pretty white, the exposed part of my face is somewhat darker from the sun out here, but, again, where the lase actually sits is pretty white.
Fred your pics I looked up are great. what is your density in the last pics you posted? Do u feel a weight difference on your head between french and sfs?
Thx
im not sure Fred. Can u post a few and let me know the density. your hair looked great in the pics i saw and im in the processing of ordering my first piece so i want to make sure i get the right density. thanks fred
Hey Fred, the last pic i saw was 2/23/08. What was your denisty on that? Do u have any trouble getting your hair to lay flat because of the french lace? Thx
no problem mate..
i made this pic in front very strong pendant ...
it's 60% density but now about 55% after 2,3 monts ...this is much better if u cannot good sides and back...50-50 is bingo for me but i m afraid for my hairline...
that's why i'll go to 55 % and 60 % on the front (just 2 cm of 1inch)next time...\
crown?just put black spot on your template and go to lower density...it'll be so good!
p.s this is 4 fingers of my eyebrow and i m 30 years old...
I forgot...st30 all around my hp and no streaching(just put tapes on hp and "forza red star"...that's it:)
I had never tried the glues...

Hey Pollo, your piece really looks great. I appreciate your advice and photos. Just so I am understanding this are you getting your piece 60 density in the front and 55 in the crown hair or 60 density through out? Thx
I feel there is a big difference. French Lace does not adhere as well to Ultrahold for some reason and the rigidness of French prevents it from flexing when the skin on my forehead moves. What ends up happening is there is seperation between very front edge and my skin right off the bat. As if it's not stuck down. I try to avoid French at the front 100$ of the time.
