I was looking at hollywoodlace.com ratings on bases (http://www.hollywoodlace.com/custom_hair_system.html) and saw that the SFS w/French Base and Full Poly Perimeter (http://www.hollywoodlace.com/gr_sw_frbase_full_poly_perimeter.html) got the best rating overall. Is this the same one as the TL550 offered by TopLace?

Wouldnt take much notice of that mate.

Some on here wouldnt give a piece with poly a 1 out of 10 rating.

Go all SFS lace you can cut to suit and will get it as undetechtable as possible to the touch, You cannot get that with a poly perimeter, Fact ! So how can it be rated the best ? Like I said rated by who ?

Besides appearance and undetectability, these ratings seem to take into account ease of attachment/adhesion and durability. The SFS front gives you the appearance, the French Base accounts for durability and the Poly Back and Sides seem to give you ease of attachment. Im a newbie doing research, if anybody is using the TL550 please let me know your experience.

yes its a good combo of materials. The poly perimeter is optional. some like it, some dont. I have had both. It doesnt matter to me.

Heres my opinion about poly perimeter.

U can use no residue tape to attach on the poly, comes off very clean. poly is not porous so water might not get in as much. If u want a VERY srong attachment u could try using duotac on the poly.

with all lace and no poly, U could use st30 tape or blue liner tape as well as no residue . Dont use st30 or blue tape on poly.


as far as the combo of sfs and french base, I think its a good combo.

How come ST tape can't be used with the poly perimeter? Are glues better to use with the poly??

The blue tape breaks down too quick and is a pain to clean up from a poly / skin perimeter. ST30 would probably be alright... but if it's a poly / skin tape zone just use a cheaper option like the brown NR tape.

rating by bob....you will always feel the edge. but its so easy to maintain and i love the poly sides. i dont care who can feel the edge. attachments are so easy. and last up to a week. but all lace as got to be the best...
