SFS base with Tanned skin tone & FlatBack Question

Is it best to tan without the hairpiece on or should the scalp be kept white?
Been wearing a hat for awhile since I stopped wearing my old monofilament system.
Now I have a tanned face and white forehead, lol.
Thought I'd get a few tan sessions in before I get my new piece, just not sure if i should keep the scalp white where the new hairpiece will go or if it even matters.
Looking at getting a SFS piece 65% density.

Also, are there other pics of a flatback piece other than MBaldys crewcut style?
I'd really like a realistic front hairline without all those straggly hairs in the front.
Is the only way to achieve this is with the wet look?
Thanks guys!
