It seems the density of my first stock piece in Nov was around 65%--however with each new piece this year I feel like is it over 70 and TOO THICK. In fact so thick that I think it looks wrong compared to my sides hairs. Does anyone have an idea what stock is coming out around now? I know it can vary but all my new ones have been relatively the same.
I want to drop density so there isn't SO much thick hair and it looks more natural. Any ideas what would be appropriate?

This is easy, if you have an old piece that you can use for a template, send it to John and get a custom order. You can specify exactly the density that you want in each area. I would also advise sending in a hair sample so the color match is right.

i agree that you should start looking at gettng orders to your specs vs. stock. customs very rarely come exactly the way you'd like but at least they're in the same ballpark.
personally, i wish the density issue would be easier to predict. there seems to be extreme variations of density these days. i always have to chuckle when people start talking about 1% variations in density when it seems to me the amount of hair so completely varies from piece to piece, order to order.

AGent Smith-where are you located?
If you are close to Jersey, you should See Erin in Bayonne. She did my last template and it was perfect.

I am going to take pics of my oldest and newest stocks for you all to see--you will chuckle how different they are...I can get custom I think...I want the same exact specs as my first piece which I believe was a french stock in the 60s...I think now I am getting SFS stock in the 70s
