Thanks to the "pro's"

As a two week noob wearer, just wanted to give a big thanks to all the "old pro's" who post on this forum. The knowledge I've gained is invaluable, and the personalities and quirks of the folks here always make for good reading (and oftentimes side-splitting laughter!). Keep doin' what you do fellas! And to my fellow (and perhaps on the fence) noobs--listen to these guys (the vets), they will be brutally honest, but they will not lead you astray.

Hairpieces we know as well as anyone.

But if you need phsycological help well lets just say, Dont call us we will call you.

Honestly this is just so simple, You glue or tape a piece to youre scalp, Granted the Colour,Density and cut in have to be correct, But to read some posts you would think it was bloody rocket science.

Regards BA.

Sudds, I can tell from reading you posts that you're going to be great at this game.

I've been wearing "hair" (cough cough) for over 30 years but didn't start wearing hair till I found this place a year ago, so I'm definitly not one of the pros yet.

I too, spent many hours reading the archives in the beginning and it gave me the confidence try everything DIY.

Learning to do cut-ins and coloring and everything else involved can seem like 2 steps forward, one step back sometimes, but in the long run it's the only way to become completely independant.

I think you have what it takes, so when you have a few pieces it's time to start experimenting.

Thanks, Buck. The most important thing is the reading. If you invest the time in browsing the archives, you learn so much more than you do by simply asking questions, as you run across so many answers to questions you'd never think to ask. Gotta thank (that no-good Wings fan!) Snipe. When I fist started posting, he told me (in his trademark kind, patient, nurturing way) to shut the @#&$ up and do some reading, and it was great advice!

hey Suddzy thats great news and I have no doubt you're happy with the results. Thanks to Toplace, BA, Debbie, John and all the posters here its money and time well spent. I didn't get any Sports Illustrated bathing suit models calling me yet like Jake or Snipe but I keep my hopes up. lol

As BA keeps saying its really is just glue, tape and wig.The rest is just some needed additional detail to refine and enhance the way it looks.

After 3 months its almost just like shaving every morning to me. I usually have some front lift(easy to fix) in the morning but I attribute that to me not using a lot of glue and the way I style my hair.

I just started coloring my own hair (its gray) instead of going to a salon every month. between cutting my hair with robocut and now doing the coloring myself I'm actually saving $100 a month, give or take a few dollars.

oh btw so far I don't see any wear or tear issues with pieces that I have seen noted here. I do see a small amount of shedding which doesnt effect the look. I was prepared to buy as many as 4 pieces a year but from what I'm experiencing right now , think its going to be about 2 a year or 3 at most. From here on in I'll be doing all my own cut ins , I just dont need anyone anymore. That the whole purpose here is to make us as self reliant as possible and thanks to everyone here feel fully equipped to handle this for the long term.

best of luck Suddzy

Bill
