frizz sucks

Hi,

My piece is body wave, which I love, but it frizzes like crazy. Very drie. I use nearly natural and conditioner, but they can only do so much. I have to put in a lot anti-frizz moulding cream to make it look normal and not dry and dead.

What more can I do??

Maybe I should order straight hair next time?? Does that frizz less??

Thanks!!

Yes, the less curl you order the less processed the hair is. they have to perm the hair in order to add curl and that is just yet another chemical process that the hair is put through.
If straight hair works for you and will match your side hair, then by all means, order it. I've never had trouble ordering a slight wave 4.0 though...its never been dry or frizzy.

After having so many problems with dry hair I decided to experiment with some different things and am in the process of formulating a hair care product that has the potential to end this problem once and for all.

Just a little more tweaking.....stay tuned....

No need

Everyone can stop bothering trying to come up with any secret formulas.

This is the be all end all for keeping a hairpiece from drying out:

http://texasbeautysupplycom.stores.yahoo.net/raz27435.html

6 bucks and the bottle will probably last 5 years. It is almost pure dimethicone / cyclomethicone which are the only 2 substances in the world that properly coat and smooth the hair shaft.

Little tiny bit worked through the hair leaves it feeling pretty much how it comes from the factory.

I've tried every single remedy ever mentioned on this forum or elsewhere. Brylcream, nearly natural, horse and mane, every conditioner, leave in, hot oil, blah blah.

This is the only thing I found that actually works.

Past that, use a water filter and shampoo infrequently. Use a conditioner with dimethicone periodically. Goldwell ultrasilk is the best I found.

It's been a long time now that I noticed that in most pharmacies and/or drugstores (in Canada anyway) there is a section separate or at the end of the usual shampoos/conditioners section and it is for black people. They have everything regrouped together (shampoos, conditioners, wax, etc...) that is required for their needs.

I checked one out in detail last week and the answer to some of the 'dry hair' problems that some hairwearers experience could be in that section!

They have several brands of products for their curly hair and its fundamental work is to put 'moisture' back in the hair in a balanced way.

I tried one out ("care free curl") and wow, it works better than my usual mousse, it's like it locks in the hair wet just like when we leave the shower and in a natural way.

I'm not too crazy about products but in summer time, I keep my mind open for something that can keep my hair good as I spend more time outside in the sun.

Check out that section and read what's on the products that are for activating and re-activating curls. Don't worry, if you have no curls it won't create some on you lol...

Hans

Would love to try out that Razac Polishing Gloss but it's very expensive to send to Holland where I live...

Is there maybe another product that has a lot of dimethicone / cyclomethicone in it??

Tried the product from texas beauty supply (tried to order one bottle but it said order was too small so had to order 2 bottles). This stuff seems to work pretty darn well but the "perfume" smell it has makes me want to throw up.

I agree, it works well. The smell is Aloe Vera, which dissipates in an hour or so. I prefer to put it on dry hair and you only need a little bit. The two bottles will probably last over a year.

The two products I am finishing up the formulation on should be done in time for the convention, and will be UNSCENTED. One is similar to the product you are talking about, and the other is a much lighter version.

Stay tuned cause the results are looking VERY promising.

There are lots of products out there that will perform a similar function, but I'm stripping it down to the bare essentials and only using stuff that will specifically benefit our type of hair, just silicones to carry the oils and seal the hair along with natural oils and silk to keep the hair looking and feeling healthy. The only thing that I might revise is the addition of sunscreen, but other than that, it's about ready to go.

Oh yea, and I've tried a couple of the polishing serums similar to the one mentioned, and it turns out that the combination of raw silicones I'm using are a bit thicker and tend to work even better.
