How did you feel after your first attachment and first time out in public? Were you more confident in your appearance? How did people respond to you when they first met you?
I got my first by the time I was 17 1/2. My hair had thinned a lot but no real baldness occuring yet. My friends have never said anything about it but i'm sure they probably know however as long as you're doing it right and feel confident, no one will really pay attention to it. I know my immediate family has forgotten about it since I first started 2 years ago.
first time i went out i was VERY confident because it looked (and still does) 100% normal and natural...i recommend going to a stylist that toplace recommends because that way you will leave satisfied and wont mess anything up
people responded simply assuming I got a new haircut
no one knows except those ive told (parents + gf) and no one would ever assume my hair isnt all my own. Every time I do something new (e.g streaks, or new color, or new cut) family that dont know I wear always give me compliments...and this is standing face to face.
I live in a large college town, and since I got the hair, everyone I meet automatically assumes I'm a student (esp since I shaved my goatee). Everyone who knew me before I got the piece knows that I wear. Just no way of hiding it from them, so I told them in advance and their reactions were all positive. I know diff folks have diff attitudes about this, but I could care less who knows. It's a hairpiece not a case of herpes, and I ain't ashamed of it. I'd rather just walk around bald, then walk around worried that someone "spots" me. Just my opinion. To be fair, though, I'm 31. If I was still a "young" guy (early 20s or so) my attitude would probably be different.
I got kinda lucky I guess. I started losin' it bad back in the mid-90's when shaved heads became hip. I think that nowadays the only guys with shaved heads are bald guys. But the older guys must've had it pretty rough...shaved heads back in those days meant you were some kind of racist, anti-semitic fanatic. They had no choice but to sport their horseshoes!
For some, this may sound retarded but I found it interesting.
But in Evolutionary Biology, our professor showed us a lot of extensive research about the insignificance of hair on humsns in comparison to its importance to our species in the past rendering it nothing more than an evolutionary leftover.
That makes perfect sense. If you think about it our hair, whether on our heads or on our backs or in our noses, serves no practical biological purpose. If our wacky species survives that long, in a few thousand years we'll probably all be hairless. On second thought, the nose hair probably helps filter out some impurities, so we may need that!
Who knows maybe there could be a market niche for hirsute stockings in the future to give hairless human women hairy legs. After all we humans always seem to want what we do not have.
Hairy legs, not hairy legs, I just like the 'look' of women. BTW, they also smell good, too IMO. Not a conscious choice, just the way that you are born.
I like wearing a wig, too. Main reason that keeps me doing it is that my wife likes it and requests that I do when we go out. I guess that I am just whipped, but I can think of worse things.
If I ever become single again I can meet your Italian auntie. ;>)
