my limited experience with ST-30

so far is disapointing. With Blue tape I have been able to go as long as ten days. I have settled in to changing once a week or sooner if the I'm not happy with the way the bond is holding up. I have tried ST-30 twice now and it holds for about 3-5 days. I've read enough on this board to know that people have varying results with different products so no complaints here just stating my experience with the product was less than what I had expected.

I do wash it 2 days a week and I rince everyday so that may be why I'm getting differnt results.

One thing to try (if you haven't already) is to mush the tape really hard onto the lace with the handles of the scissors (or the bottom of a beer bottle, or what have you), and then to do the same to the unit (where the tape is) when it's on you head. ST-30 doesn't stick well for me unless I do these things.

never mesh with beer bottle or scirrors...use a thick comb...reason beer bottle will make hairs stick to tape...you want lace to stick to skin only

For me ST-30 doesn't hold anywhere near as well as blue liner, and about the same as Supertape and Proflex.

I sweat like crazy and for some reason the only two things that give me a super long bond are blue liner and Ultrahold. Too bad the cleanup is horrific on both after about 6 days.

im a fan of blue tape. it is a strong attachment and can look like glue in the front if u use it properly. Im one of the few who do not have much of a cleanup challenge with the blue tape. But I am starting to see a truth about tapes. the more invisible the messier because the consistency is more like a glue then a tape.

ya know before I tried ST-30 I posted questions regarding application and is there any differences. Some joker felt it was necessary to complain that I would ask this question. To that person I say this , keep your negativity to yourself, you serve no purpose other than to alienate positive input and learning on this board.

Thanks I'll try pressing harder on it to strecth it out next time I change and will report the results.

I've experienced the same thing, and I just don't see the point in it. What's the purpose of the forum if not to help each other?

If you have the time to explain the techniques you use to achieve this, I at least, would be grateful.

How horrific is horrific? I.e., soaking in Desolvit and mirror sliding isn't enough?

Hmmm, for me the ST-30 doesn't stay stuck unless I press with the scissor handles. I don't use ST-30 in the front at the moment, though, so the issue you mention isn't that important for my current use.

fortunately it doesnt happen very often Darius because I handle everything very well with the exception of rude and ignorance.

in my experience on cleanup the only time I ever ran into a problem is when I was in a hurry. I tried spraying the release under the piece to get it off quicker. For everyone reading this, its not a good idea because most of the glue and tape stuck to the piece instead of my head making the cleanup 3 times more difficult. Also this is my other piece with poly sides and back which is always more maintanence cleaning than the all lace. I would never order poly again for this reason. Using the mirror method for me is a breeze with the lace piece.

When blue liner breaks down too much (for me after about 5 days) it still sticks like crazy, but the softer it gets the more it seeps into the lace, making it very tough to get out. As long as you don't cross that threshold it isn't any worse than white glue that is cleaned up in timely manner
