Anybody ever use straightening or curling irons on hairpiece??

I have kind of course, curly and kind of stiff hair...sorta'. It ain't as bad as all that but it ain't Tom Cruise's hair either lol. I'm a little worried about texture match when I make my first order. I sometimes use a straightening iron on my own hair to smooth it out a little - takes 5 minutes. Has anyone here used a curling iron or straightening iron on their hairpiece? I have Pureology straightening gel (very nice product) which protects hair from irons once you blow dry it. anyone with any experience in this area? Debbie?

Yes Debbie uses them after doing a cut in for the women, I am sure she will explain when she sees your post.

I treat the hair as if it were the clients own hair so yes, I use curling irons, straightening irons etc on the pieces.
when you order, send in a hair sample and ask them to try and match the texture.

Thanks for the replies ~ I was expecting to hear gasps of disbelief and outrage at the suggestion of using irons! I've never seen it mentioned as a soluton when people post in shock and awe that their new piece seems curlier than they expected. My own curly hair isn't perfect spirals like a perm so I feel safe ordering some curl and then I can break it up a bit with an iron or relax it a bit depending on what I'm going for. That's good news!

I wear a full cap.. I order slightly curl, You can use curling irons ,you can also use a blowdryer to strighten with a round brush or regural brush. Once you strighten, it will stay that way until you wash it again, also I would use a leave in condicioner, there are many hair care products. Find what suits you. Watch those with alot of addivites, no alcohol. Cin
