Making things simple.

Im making my front hairline completely match tape contours. 3 pieces of tape without any editing/cutting should fit my hairline and temple flaps. and 3 pieces of tape cut in half for the base. Going to use blue tape on the front and usa/st30 for base. This should give a strong attachment and easy clean up, and best of all should be extremely fast and easy to do. no stretching or drawing in lines for me. No four coats of glue or.. hair drying glues and all the other tedious stuff. I just want to plop the tapes down fast pop it on and go. So far this is the best attachment for me thus far. and ive learned to get the blue tape to look like glue.

I've been contemplating doing a similar thing myself, only it would involve removing more of my real hair, and I'm not 100% sure that that is the best strategy. Also, my stylist used a glue attachment on me this month (Perma Rite #15, anyone know where to obtain it?), and now I finally believe that it is possible to get a virtually undetectable attachment. The lace edge is virtually undetectable to sight or touch all the way around the unit. And it so perfect in the back, that as of yet, I don't need to wear a bandanna to sleep in order to prevent the back of the unit from getting pushed up.

In any case, I certainly found USA tape to be pretty easy to apply, modulo having to trim it carefully to the right contour, but I didn't get to really test the attachment durability as I visited my stylist the next morning.

How do you get the Blue Liner tape to look like glue in the front? Any if you want a contoured tape with backing, why stick with Blue Liner, rather than using USA tape?

My stylist says that I can use baby powder to eliminate most of the tape shine. I haven't tried that yet, though.

Wow I was not aware that some people take this wearing so far as to not even be able to sleep normally...if I had to wear a bandana to sleep every night heck i would not even wear.

Wearing the bandanna does not bother me. It's not like having a prostate exam, or anything.

What's the verdict on the usa tape?

Well, I only wore USA tape for a day, because I had a visit with my stylist the next day, who did a new attachment. For that one day, the USA tape worked great. The next time I do an attachment, I'll try a longer run with the USA tape. It's not nearly as no-shine as they claim, though I didn't use any anti-shine techniques. Perhaps their claims only apply if you rub the tape with the backing, or what have you.

Mo, I kind of agree with you. Expecting your hair (whether real or fake) to look good in the morning is asking a lot. I remember when I had a full head of hair, looked like hell in the morning. Now that I have a wig--usually looks like hell in the morning, but sometimes is actually easier to style than the real stuff.

My problem was not with the hair not looking good in the morning, but the attachment in the back getting unstuck due to a lot of friction with the sheets. The bandanna prevents this even more than a satin pillow case. Probably 'cuz I end up just pushing the pillow off the bed in my sleep anyway.
