One thing that I have noticed about some of the hair wearers I have met is that they tend to underestimate what you can get away with when changing your hair style/length/color/etc.

Last night I went on a second date with a girl I have known for about a year. I dated her friend in the past (who knows I wear) but circumstances have only recently came together for us to "hook up".

Now I'm fairly sure that this girl has no idea that I wear. I am good friends with another one of her friends who knows I wear, and I asked if this girl knew, and to the best of both our knowledge she is clueless.

Anyway, last time I saw this girl was about two weeks ago when I went out with her "officially" for the first time. Before that we had been out with a group of friends several times over the past month or two.

Back then I was wearing my other full cap, which is about 2.5" long at its longest point, with medium wave curl and is all one color.

So last night I was debating about wearing the piece she is used to seeing me in, but I said to hell with it, and wore the new one Betsy cut in at the convention.

I basically went from 2-2.5" bangs to 5" bangs, curly to straight hair, and solid color to highlighted over the course of the two weeks I hadn't seen her.

I get to the restaurant to meet up with her, and she immediately comments about the "rock star" hair, noticing I had done a few things different. She commented on the highlights, but didn't say a thing about the length or the straightness.

My response was "I know people in the business" and left it at that. She made a couple of other comments about the hair throughout the night, but I don't think for one second she thought anything was "off".

Basically what I'm saying is that you can get away with soooooo much more than you realize. It definitely helps to do more than one thing at a time, and i wouldn't necessarily recommend doubling your hair length overnight, but it just goes to show that you shouldn't be afraid to try new things with your hair. Switch it up from time to time. If you got a good looking piece nobody will suspect a thing. If anything it will HELP maintain the illusion, since nobody knows you can do so much crazy stuff with fake hair.

Of course .. we never know what
women are thinking when they look at our
spiffy hair (real or fabricated).

She could just be overly nice ...
or ... overly intuitive and waiting for
you to make a slip of the tongue as she comments on
your Rock Style hair ...

I don't know about you .. but in my life,
I've dated some ladies who are as dumb
as a metal door knob

and sometimes you swear on a beautiful fall
day.. you just heard the whoosh of air swirl
from one ear and out the other .....

and darn ... they're just as observant
. but some of them ARE LOOKERS !

.. and take my friend Bill who head is as sparse
as a oxegyn-deprived, lunar landscape ...

but when Bill knowingly whips out his overstuffed,
flashy alligator-skinner billfold ..

with that thick, bulging wad of U.S. greenbacks
.. of which .. he's so overly generous with

... well ... I've noticed the women he's with
.. their libidos seemingly go into overdrive and
it ain't because of glistening sheen of Bill's
dome in the moonlight ...

And when I go to thailand ... it is amazing
how these scrumptuous, gorgeous, milky brown-skinned
18 - 22, sexy, darling little thai girls ...

and how they drape their bodies all over 60-80
year old farangs (Foreigners) ... some of whom
are extremely obese .. and who look like and
have the outwardly, noticeable hygiene habits
of a harpooned Orca that's been
rotting one day too long in the sun ...

And the cute-as-a-button girls giggle
affectionately .. and sniff kiss ... and say,
"You such a handsome man!"

And lets not even talk about Hugh Hefner ....

God ... when he takes off his clothes .. at this
point in life, he must look like an over-dried
and over-ripe, albino California Prune

but do you see that gaggle of young blondes he
sleeps with every night ...

Yep .. some women don't SEE .. and some SEE WHAT
THEY WANT TO SEE !!

Jrob--great post. I think many wearers worry too much, and don't realize that the general pub only "notices" really bad Marv Albert wigs. I've been wearing about 3 months now and I basically have the same attitude as you--don't give a damn who knows, tell people fairly soon after meeting them. And everyone I've told has been shocked to find out its a wig. And the women I've met couldn't care less. They just like the fact that I look good. And if I meet one who doesn't like it, the hell with her. I'm 6-4, 220 lbs, lean, handsome, with a great head of fake hair...meeting other women is no problem!

I can back this up.  I've made some changes (not as drastic) but no one picked up on it.  Fact is the units often look so real that no one wouls assume.

I also have a longer style cut, and had a great night a few weeks ago i was out bar-hopping. I was wearing a hat, and the doorman at one of the bars asked me to take off my hat to verify my ID. After removing my cap, the girl behind me in line who had heard the doorman make me take my cap off (and who was a complete stranger) loudly tells the doorman "You cant fake that!"

I use two pieces and both of them have differnt amounts of blonde in them. One is a sandy brown and the other is a medium brown with a lot of blonde highlights. The key is the color you use to match them. Todays styles for men are different than they were 20 years ago. Also by using some highlights you make it much harder for anyone to really know what color your hair really is.

Suddzy you have the same attitude as I do. I dont give a damn who knows Im wearing they all agree its better than a bald look on me. We will lose the stigma of wearing when everyone comes out of the closet.Its going to happen in the next decade , Im sure of it. Its all about how we present ourselves. We want it to look natural as possible so we dont look ridiculous, its not about fooling people. I'm a very confident wearer, I get so many unsolicited compliments on the style I wear that it amazes me that people worry so much about someone noticing. Very few men look better bald, thats a fact. I hate looking at myself in the mirror now when its off. lol

Toplace wearers dont have to worry about some hairclub sticking a muskrat on our head once a month that looks ridiculous. We determine how good it looks, the density, the color and the style. What exactly do we have to be ashamed of?
