Well, I can't say that I've tried, but my experience with the ADF products that I have used is that they're more of a way of maintaining the hair color once it has been dyed than in dyeing it from scratch. You should probably use a real hair dye for that. Just For Men for beards and mustaches works fine for doing just that.

I like both but just for men works well once a month.

I use the darkest color ADF has, (my hair is between a 1 and 1B) about once a week or so and leave it on for about 30 minutes with good results. I only use it on the piece as I dont need to color my side hair yet, probably will in a few years though.

I am a color 1B with blonde highlights who keeps a light beard that has turned too grey (along with my eyebrows turning grey)...i use the adf once per week on my eyebrows (i know you are not supposed to but I don't get it in my eyes so I've never had a problem) and beard, leaving it on for 10-15 minutes. it does darken the grey hairs to about 70% of the color they looked like in my younger years, so it is not a 100% solution but it works for me. i don't trust the more permanent just for men colors on the beard in case something went wrong with the color. adf will wash out much faster.

IREADEM2, I'm using my ADF coloring conditionner pretty much the same way you do, ie leaving it in my hair for 30 minutes and even more.

In my opinion, this kind of color depositing product needs to stay in the hair for more than just a few minutes in order to make a real difference. And it works!! No need to re-dye my hair as often as usual

I ALWAYS recommend putting the same colour from the same bottle on the hairpiece AND your own hair, That way you will have at least used the same colour on both.

***Word of caution the colour does tend to colour the hairpiece hair quicker so bear that in mind in regards to how long to leave it on your own hair and the hairpiece as times will vary for each***

Regards BA.

Yeah BA's right!

I was talking about coloring shampoo or conditionner, but when it comes to real hair dye, it's another story.
