How practical is a long hair system?

Let's say I shave my hair off and want to get a really long hair system.

James Franco wears one in his new film Pineapple Express. I assume he buzzed/shaved his hair off underneath it. I was thinking about getting a system similar in length to his. I have never had hair that long and am incapable of growing it out like that. (Due to hair loss of course)

I used to have my hair half way down my back when it was in style . One thing to consider is that longer hair is alot more work to maintain and it was always in my face when I got active.

If I had one piece of advice about ordering a long hair system (and I have), don't buy it at exactly what length you think you want to end up with after it's cut in. Buy it MUCH longer so you can have it cut in without little strands of shorter hair tickling your eyes and face constantly. The hair around your face needs to be longer so you can keep it from driving you crazy. Then you can do what you want to the rest.

Mine was ordered at 21 inches I think and it ended up at about 16 or so in the back after the cut in. And I had my cut in done twice. The first pass to get it in the ballpark, and the second time to trim up any problem areas and do the final shaping once it had settled down.

James Franco looks great in that shot BTW. It's a good look for him and his face.
