Gel, I know this is a bit out of left field but I just wanted to ask you something. I recently got admitted into medical school and I was wondering how talented you would need to be at math. I was always average, but not totally brain dead when it came to maths. I thought you being a doctor would be able to shed some light for me?
Cheers mate
Sam

That kind of new forum has already been tried in the past without success.
I'm not saying it wont work this time but this forum has something that the "sophisticated" forums don't have: simplicity and the 'conversational' feel to it and it has already been discussed here a few times.
Human nature has its ways and some things sometime are better left the way they are.
Who is it this time who wants to introduce the new technical forum, John ? Go ahead try it again hehe....
Sam, actually Xeon is right. Math and calculus is a loop you must jump through to get accepted into med school but there is very little math from then on...it is a lot of work. memory games, delayed gratification, expense but it is worth it. I love my work even though most professionals make more money than me...I have my own practice and urgent care center and I am happy. You should call me sometime. Drop me an e-mail
There's nothing wrong with this forum if you use Snipe's search technique through google. It's an awesome way to search. I do think the lack of a good built-in search function has kept this forum from falling into the usual territorial pissing traps that plague most forums. With a better built-in search technique I'm envisioning some of the veterans taking it upon themselves to berate any wandering newbie who dares to ask: "what's a good glue for a long attachment?" with: "this question has been asked MANY times - do us all a favor and do a SEARCH!" and then they'll feel real good after their piss and wait to pounce on the next clueless trepasser.

Rocky, I think you have re-register for the new forum.
"this question has been asked MANY times - do us all a favor and do a SEARCH!" and then they'll feel real good after their piss and wait to pounce on the next clueless trepasser."
Just about every question you can think of HAS been answered MANY MANY times, many with different answers to the same question.
Any newbie that is serious about learning how to play this game owes it to themselves to read this forum from back to front. What you will learn is priceless. This forum reads like a book, with many intersting characters.
If a newbie has no idea who Jake is, and his relationship to Super Glue, he obviously hasn't read enough. You don't need a search function to read the forum from back to front. Everthing will start to make sense as you go along.
If ANYBODY thinks they don't have the time or need to do this, then best of luck to you, 90% of you will give up in less than 6 months.
If 10% of the newbies are willing READ THE WHOLE FORUM from back to front they will know what I'm talking about, 90% of you will go on to be very happy and successful slapheads.
Game over, YOU WIN!

LOL, Rocky - No that "long rant" wasn't for you. I just tried to answer your question real quick before I quoted part of MM's post and responded to it.
The "long rant" was for any newbie that thinks there is a simple answer to wearing hair are to lazy to take advantage of all the info avalable to them at their fingertips in this forum.
Oh, and the rant wasn't directed at you MM, but to any newbie with the attitude of "Please help me, what should I do?, answer all my ?'s right now, I don't have time to research the forum"
IMHO, the quickest way to success at this game is to take advantage of all the info in the back pages of this forum.
Success, failure, tips and tricks, any ? a newbie can think can think of is in here. Its all just trial and error to see what will work best for you. There is NO magic answer, it is up to each individual learn what works best for them.
I CAN GUARANTEE THAT ANY NEWBIE THAT IS CONFUSED ABOUT HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL WEARING HAIR WILL GEATLY BENEFIT FROM READING THIS FORUM FROM BACK TO FRONT.
disclaimer: if you are confused now, you will be even more confused when you first start reading this forum from back to front. i promise that if you keep with it, it will all start to make sense.
When I started on this forum ...
I was going back and reading all the
early posts, absorbing whatever nuggets I
could gleam ... and was excited about how
users have taken hair wearing to the next
level ....
then someone's post (forgot who)
was like a gentle slap to the wrist
... sort of put the damper on
my enthusiasm and basically said ..
I was wasting my time ...there was
a lot of 'old' and 'misinformation'
in those back posts ...
Well ... I'm gonna take your advice
and start over again .... thanks
WHERE WHERE WHERE is there any link to click for a new forum...I must be on a different orb here in Ft Lauderdale...where????????? (copy of screen below...this is all my choices)

I was wearing crap hair for over 30 years until I found Toplace about a year and a half ago. I learned absolutely NOTHING those first 30 years.
So when I started reading this forum even the 'old' information was new to me. If this forum were a book its title could be something like "The Evolution of Wearing Hair In the 21'st Century".
I started going through the back pages and just clicked on the topics that I was most interested in. You ever notice how a lot of topics end up going in a completely different direction than the OP's question? lol. Well I discovered thats where some of the best tips and info are. Buried inside a thread thats gone off on a different tangent.
That's when I decided it would be easier to just read the whole forum instead of doing a million searches. lol
I dont know. My advice for what it is worth, probably not much lol, but i think it would be a good idea to keep all new posts to one forum, and keep this alive as a read only forum. I mean the functionality of the new forum wont be as great if people now have to search thru two separate forums. I think we should have a poll of what everyone thinks is a collective good idea.
Heres my take on things mate, Same post I posted on the other thread :
Like I have already said this forum is going nowhere, I will continue it as normal no change, Everything I post will be on here, I am a moderator of another forum (Non hair related) I have no wish to be posting on other forums hair replacement or otherwise and wont be. I have a life outside of the internet and the less time I spend on the internet the better it is for me.
