The Counts First Ever Toplace (PHOTOS)

Okay ... Here are the photos ... just fresh from the James
Bentley Salon ... and my new life as a
hair wearer ...

The Blonde lady holding the new dead rug rats
in her hair is Di Di - NYC toplace ...stylist...

The Blonde piece I am wearing
is one of the pieces before she dyed them .....

It is kind of heavy ... next time ... we will order lower
density pieces.... because di di mentioned she doesn't
know how the weight of the hair will effect the longetivity
of the base ....

I have a HEAVIER Ponytail .....

I may go shorter SOON ... unless I adjust to
this mass of hair... She worked on it .... dyeing .. cutting
the two pieces from 10 ... tilll almost 2:50 ....
A lot of work .....

(She works for her money .. that's for sure!)

I wonder what the piece will be like when I wake
up in the morning ...

Will I be mister fixit with a roll of duct tape ... or will
I look like the witch in the wizard of oz ...

or worse still ... Jimmy Hendrix ...
as he is now ... decomposing ....

We'll see ... I'm glad it is a cool day ....
My head FEELS heavier ....

Day 1 ... or .....1 Hour so far has gone by as a
hair wearer !

Riding the subways home ... no one gave me
a second glance ..... but they all gave the leggy
blonde riding next to me ... the 'glued-eyeball'
test ....

I told you it was gonna look awesome!

Never underestimate the added flexibility you have with longer hair. As I told Count in an email, hairwearing will become an entirely different ballgame if he decides to cut it short. With that much length you can get away with soooooo much.

Oh....and props on allowing the full face pics. I'm not saying that guys who don't post full face pics can't have the right attitude (cause i know a lot of them do), but laying it all out there leaves no doubt. Congrats again!

Looks real authentic for sure! Reminds me of my ponytail wearin days.
If I may be so bold though... Seems like your real hair, mixed in with the ponytail, is quite a bit curlier than the piece. A small straightening iron would fix that right up -- (small -narrow- iron can get closer to scalp) would make for a perfect blend 'cause it looks like the color match is perfect. Flawless hairline! Is that all the piece?? Good job man

Count,

I must say that after meeting you, the look and the attitude both fit you quite well. You might want to keep one of those units blonde in case you decide to do some undercover work w/ NY vice.

Take care and welcome aboard,

Looks Fantastic Count

September 12 2008, 12:47 PM

Hey Count,

It was nice to meet you and all the rest of the great people at the windsor convention.

I don't post on here much but I have to say you look fantastic with your new piece. Its a great way to ease into wearing by wearing the same style you are used to having with your own hair.

Looks amazing and welcome to the hair wearing world we all belong to.

Keep us informed how it goes with the front attachement. ie: What you find works best for the most undetectable front hold and how long you go in between attachements.

You may have some hurdles to jump over with such an exposed and pulled back hairline but I'd love to know how it works out.

Congrats

Thanks again for showing the pics.

I was going to say what Mark said in response to longer hair is easier comment.. Might be easier for blending etc, but thats a very exposed style. Looks very good tho. Very natural hairline. i would never think anything.

Thanks Everyone !!!

September 12 2008, 2:49 PM

Thanks everyone for your support !

Had a little lifting problem this
morning with the I-Glue up front ...

A bit of a challenge for a newbie
to get some glue under without trapping
hairs ...

I see ... it is easily possible to damage
the fragile front ...

I wonder if there is a solution to
easily repair the front hairline if that
happens ..

I tried some of the gel on the hairstyle
debbie sells ...

Yep ... maybe a flat iron (Never used one
before ..) for my curlier, natural hair
under the poney tail.

I met with two people this morning who sat
directly across from me ... only 1 person
yesterday had a comment that ...
did you change your hair ? ....

(and the 2 people today .. WOULD HAVE
definitely said something)

Interesting .. I haven't had this much
hair on my head since I was a teenager ...
Almost at times feels like wearing a hat ...

I wonder how this unit will breathe ..
or not ... on a hot day ... and we
have one coming up on Sunday and Monday.

BTW: Debbie also put in some 'grey-only'
remove dye on my right side for those
greying hairs ... for some reason ... I
don't get grey hairs on the left ...

Now it's back to studying Michigan Baldy's
DVDs. Its one thing to watch them as a
'non-hairwearer' ... a whole other scenario
when you have real 'hair wearing' issues
where you need to develop the hands on skills

as for hot day's and being breathable,i still have not experinced that in my 25 year's wearing a hair piece.not even with lace.it seems to me when the direct sun hit's the top of your head, the piece absorb's the heat ,just my 2 cents gl

For that Snipe .. you have only to read my
previous posts ... or .. ask others impression
of what they saw when we met at the convention ...

From the beginning .. I posted the
exact order sent into John, in probably
WAY too much detail

no one EVER Mentioned going FROM SHORT
to a PONY TAIL ... Don't think you were
reading my posts ...

They mentioned KEEPING A STYLE I already HAD !!

But I'll leave this question to others to
answer from their perspective

Snipe;
he didn't go from short hair to a pony tail...not sure where you got that....
he had this exact same style only using concealers. he looks exactly the same except the hairline looks much better and more natural as there is no more of the matte, chalky concealer look.
this is extrememly well-done. Kudo's to Didi and to you, Count, for pulling off a completely natural look. great job!

Count mate I don't mean to sound pesimestic but your gonna have to work probably twice as hard as others on here to maintain that front hairline...thats as exposed as you can get..any lift and it probably won't be as forgiving as other hair styles...be prepared to work!

Thats why BA tracked down Fray Check, Going to call it "No More Checking The Lace Front Check"

BA, does the Fray Check also help with lace lift? I was under the impression that it only helps to make the lace less visible, but if it can also prevent lifting in the front, then that is truly something amazing!

If you're having trouble with the Count's link, try this:

Congrats Count, I know another wearer with long hair and a ponytail who has as much exposed hairline as you do. Looks great, you nailed it.

Re: Thanks Everyone !!!

September 12 2008, 9:13 PM

I use the I-Glue too Count. In my experience, if it's too thick in one area, like a glob of it, and you're layering it as it tacks up, that glob will STAY WHITE once you press the lace into it and it dries... I've tried remedying this issue after the fact with a little alcohol worked through the lace from the top but that didn't really work. Obviously, I'm still working through these newbie issues myself.
I hit each layer wih a blow dryer and that speeds up the process to the tacky level. I'd just say for your nice front to be patient with the layers of glue, keeping each layer application smooth and thin. Not that this hasn't been said many times before but it's my experience with I-Glue.

Yes Fray Check helps keep the lace down also becuse it is applied over the top of the front lace edge.

I have a theory with glue like MM, Some glues are thick like Iglue,Ultrahold,Etc so on the front Basebond is good to use as it is very thin indeed it goes on like water so you get a very thin layer and thinner the better on the front is by far the best way in my opinion.

Re: Thanks Everyone !!!

September 15 2008, 11:13 AM

Looking good Count, congratulations. System hair can be permed, I have naturally curly hair and used to wear it longer. It's been difficult to get a good match with curl, easier to go straight. You can get your own hair permed straight if you wish, your stylist should be able to advise you.

So you're a hypnotist...I guess
that could explain
why your posts...
seem to ramble on
hypnotically?

Just Rambling ...
But not this post ...

I was truly amazed and flattered somewhat
at the convention .. at how many of the
participants told me .. they DO take the
time to READ my posts ...

but more than that ....was how
they could RECALL EVERY WORD when we spoke ...

almost as if they had MEMORIZED the post

heck .. there's a handful of guys ...
can't recall them all now ... Kinda wordy ..
But As soon as I see their name ..
I know there's some nuggets of hair wisdom
in that post ... or they're just going to MAKE
ME FEEL GOOD ... for no reason, whatsoever.

JRob, Darius, BA, Wesb, Zappa, Xeon,
BuckEye .. amongst others ..

"but more than that ....was how

But.. but... you're a hypnotist! You probably put them to sleep and gave them a post-hypnotic suggestion that they memorize all of your posts:

"You will recall every word of every post I have ever made. You will wake up refreshed and not remember anything about being put to sleep...."
