Any Knowledgable Hardcore Computer Techies Out There ??

September 14 2008 at 8:21 PM

Count  (Login countdevio)

I started reading 4-5 hours ago ... the Toplace
Forum from the early beginning posts ....

(which means going to the end of the forum
and moving backwards to present day)

The Toplace story, BA and this forum's creation
and the way it has changed and dymystified
the hair industry is pretty freaken amazing ....

From Farrell to Coolpiece, the detailed posts
detailing the nightmares of early hair
wearers who spent truckloads of money
equivalent to buying several condos ..

and what did they get in exchange ..??
Scarey, overpriced pieces and bad frontal hairlines

Also .. how the industry moved from weaves
to glues and tapes ...

In those hours of reading .. there is SO much
DETAILED info .. I only made it backwards to page
282 (from the last page)..

and some of the stories of how hair wearing
has changed people's lives ... read better
than an epic novel .....

And most of the stories have BA swooping
down and coming to hair wearer's rescue ..

My question ... Has anyone figured out how
to DOWNLOAD the whole site so one can read it
offline ...like one BIG BOOK ?

I have a pad and pen by my computer to keep
track of what page I'm on ... and to get back to
where I left off ...

wouldn't want my computer connection to
'burp out' before I noted where I left off ...

I'm sure there is some program software program
where one can download this whole forum file and
read this stuff 'off-line'.

For those who haven't read this forum .. there's
some amazing stuff and some items which aren't
mentioned as frequently .. Like the TopGun
Farrell used to sell for cleaning lace, Michigan
Baldy's great early posts ... and of course ..
B.A. ... in relentless persuit of the perfect
hair piece ...

And BTW .. this forum should be archived ..
This is the bible for hair wearers !

Hi Count - Nice meeting you at the convention. My wife sure got a kick out of your sense of humor.

I've been preaching to anyone that will listen for over a year now how everyone should read the whole forum from back to front. How it reads just like a book, etc...

Just wait till you get to Jake's story and follow it through. He posted for a long time before he finally got a piece.

And Supo and his shampoo, or just anything Supo is entetaining, to say the least.

Xeon and his partial (he was PaladinX when he started posting), all great storylines.

These are just a few of the bonus stories mixed in with all the knowledge you will gain.

Wish I could help you with your ?, but all i can think of is just keep reading.

I've used this program, it works quite well but not sure how/if it will work for a forum site:

http://www.httrack.com/

Forums aren't static linked pages, they are "dynamically" built from a database.

long-time hair fetishist...

September 15 2008, 5:31 PM

Hola Count...

I have been on this website since I think near the beginning. I even live in the same town (6 months out of the year) as MB!

I took another route when I began thinning alot--proscar, then avodart, and rogaine and alot of transplants.

Even grew out my hair to 19+ inches.

Met Farrell in Chicago and even went to LA to see his salon back in the day.

I considered going to the most recent convention but since I responded well to the surgical and drug/lotion route--didn't want to waste anyone's time.

Saw MB a few years ago in a local gym and a hair supply store.

I check this website about 2X's a day.

It really is fascinating and I think the guy's that post on here are interesting and intelligent and want to do something for themselves that is positive.

Toplace is a cool company! Wish I had thought of it.

Regards,

Steve
