I bought a container of alcohol a while ago from a site- the one i have is isopropanol alcohol. However today i went back on the site and found that they only sell isopropyl alcohol. so my question is can this be used as well to release lace from head etc? Thanks for any help

Homer,
Yes this can be used to remove and clean. I use only alcohol nowadays as I have found this to be more economical and as effective as lace release.
Just make sure you have 99% alcohol and not less as this may reduce the effectiveness.

I picked up a bottle of 99 percent
alcohol yesterday at a medical supply store
... pretty expensive at $4.99 a bottle
where a comparable bottle of less percentage
alcohol is only .89.
But many of the BIG DRUG chains don't carry
the 99 percent.
Amazing stuff for hairwearers ..this morning
.. using the alcohol and a box of .99 cue tips
solved cleaning those little boogers and dust
that accumulate from the day's activities
at the front hairline ... and also any of
those stray hairs that accidentally got
matted down from the glue ...
My question to the experts on here ...
Does Alcohol effect the lace ... ??

Unless you are using huge quantities, 99% alcohol will evaporate before you get a chance to wash it out.
It won't hurt the lace. Some people claim that it dries out the hair a bit. I haven't noticed any such effect myself, but I don't have the type of units designed to last a year either.
In any case, I wouldn't worry about it, as you really don't have a choice.
Buy some of jrob's conditioner if you are having a problem with dry hair, is what I would say.
Also, if you use Creme of Nature shampoo, it conditions the hair as it washes it.
