Sorry for bombarding the message board with my 2 threads, but I'm almost like a child at Christmas with the regards my new hair.
I've ordered my systems, just awaiting shipping etc, and I'm in the middle of looking at products to buy for my first ever attachment this week.
I'll buy both tape, and glue, but what is best for a complete novice to use?
For some reason, from the youtube vids etc, I'm favouring tape at the moment, but is there such a thing as an easier/better bond with tape or glue for a beginner? Last thing, I want is to make a real mess of my first piece.
It's a good question.
I've used glue 99% of the time, so I'm not as good with tape as with glue.
But I'd probably say tape for a newbie, since there may be less ways
of screwing it up. You can always lift the tape up if you really blow
it with placement, and may be less intimidated on cleanup. Really though,
either will work, and over time if you try both, you'll figure out what
really works.
Be patient, don't get frustrated, you'll love your hair.
Yes it is AG has it has been closed, I was a mug to close it and it wont happen again, Welcome back you are one of the most clued up on here.
As for Kevi the newbie there are a range of tapes and it really is a matter of trying and seeing what works for you personally,
I will send you a few free samples so you can try before you buy mate.
Thanks, I wish you luck in anything you do, you are one of the hardest working guys on the planet, and are a credit to this business. Most everything I've learned over the years is thanks to you.

Hi,
I would say it depends on the type of style you will wear your hair,if its mainly forward over the forehead,i would recommend using tape all round,as it does seem easy to work with.I have used blue liner at the lace front, and with this tape you could expose the front hair, but as many have said glue is the best at the front to be undetectable if you push the front hair back.I wear an all lace piece.
I would try different tapes and glues to see what works for you,i have been using Walkers no shine tape ,very good tape with less cleanup than blue liner, and i will try out the supertape soon.

Ive used the extendabond tape then switched to ST-30 and when that was un-available, I switched to walkers no shine tape that comes in a roll. I prefer that one the most although when the new ST-30 comes out Ill try that agian just to compare to the Walkers.
As far as glue, its always been ultrahold, although Ive tried basebond but didnt care for it. On my next order from Debbie, I might finally try a different glue.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies, and advise. I'd be looking at wearing for possibly a week at time to start with, just to get the hang of it, or maybe a bit longer,10days, but read the reports about the mess you get when you do that, so a bit undecided.
Just adding to my research for wearing. Cheers Ba, for the added help with the tape as well. Truly fantastic.
