Response to HELP FAST

... welcome to the message board.

Like Carmel said, there are plenty of us here who really understand how you are feeling, as we have all been through the same kinds of feelings, symptoms and problems. Hopefully we can all give you some encouragement and let you know that you are not alone in this.

Sounds like the meds aren't helping at all, so maybe its time to try a different approach huh? What are you doing to help with the symptoms besides taking meds? Are you on a good multi-vitamin, doing exercise, etc.? I assume you have read the information on my web site, where I have provided a great deal of information on how to combat the symptoms of PMDD using a very safe effective and natural 'naturopathic' approach. The methods I describe aren't anything new, and have been around longer than Prozac has ...

I cured myself completely from PMDD using this natural method, after a long time of struggling with ever-worsening symptoms while being on SSRI's -- just like you are experiencing now.

The most important thing you can do for yourself is to stop the worst symptoms as soon as you can, and for this I highly recommend getting yourself some pharmaceutical grade L-Tryptophan. The L-Tryptophan will immediately start rebuilding lost serotonin reserves and ease the emotional symptoms you are experiencing, which can be the worst of the lot to cope with.

Also, my experience with PMDD has taught me that the guilt feelings you might be feeling, which are associated with relationship issues with friends or family, while struggling with PMDD, can be very detrimental to a complete recovery. It is very important to remember that you are suffering from a very debilitating medical disorder, and that the personality you are portraying while experiencing PMDD is not the real you.

One way to help ease relationships in this instance is to help your friends or family understand this disorder by providing them with some reading material, or explaining to them in your own words what you have learned about your symptoms (do this in your 'good' times). It is always helpful to be frank in such situations -- come clean and apologize for hurting feelings in a sincere fashion. By reaching out in this way, you will be opening the doors to better communication. This will automatically lead you to the next step: educating them .

For this purpose you can print out my essay, or any information here on any of my sites you think will help them to understand what you are going through, better. True friends will find compassion in their hearts for you with sincere caring, and offer you the support you really need right now from those who are the closest to you.

Please keep in touch Sharon. Any time you feel the need to talk with someone, you are more than welcome to e-mail me, or post here on the message board. If you want a more private space to share than this public forum, you are welcome to join the new member's only support group I have formed. Look for the details in my last post here on the board today.

I wish you all the best, and look forward to chatting with you some more.

Anthea
