Response to PMDD and Bipolar

Hi,
I was wondering about a year ago if I might have bipolar disorder, and when I talked to my therapist about it she said she didn't think so. I told her about teh uncontrollable rage I suffered with each month. She's the one who asked if the feelings were intensified during the week before my period. She didn't use the term "pmdd" but she pointed me in the right direction. I stared doing my own research and prettt much diagnosed myself with pmdd. Now I've seen several doctors, as well as a new therapist and a psychiatric nurse, and they are all in agreement with me- I have pmdd. I spoke to the psych. nurse about bipolar disorder, she asked me some very specific questions, including whether I experienced days of really, really high energy- like I could barely sleep, or felt "manic". I had to tell her no- and that's when she said I do NOT have bipolar disorder.
Maybe you could do your own research inot both these disorders, and most of all listen to your instincts- then talk to your doctor about what you think. No one knows you (or your body) the way YOU do- if your doctor doesn't listen to your ideas, maybe you should talk to another one.
I hope you are getting some effective help. You're not alone.
