hi,
it's been a while since i posted here, and i'm sorry to say not much has happened as far as progress in treating my pmdd. i am experiencing somewhat less severe anger, but i still feel very depressed, sensitive, confused, overwhelmed, and generally incapable during pmdd. i have been seeking some help from both a doctor and a mid-wife. i was disappointed and somewhat shocked to be told by the mid-wife "the only 'successful treatment' for pmdd is sarafem." first, i do not consider something that has incredibly frightening side effects as well as a complete turnaround as soon as the pill is stopped a successful treatment, and second, i absolutely disagree with the idea that a pill alone is going to treat a multitude of problems for a multitude of women. anyway...she offered me a prescription which i refused. she then offered me another prescription for a pill she claims is very helpful in treating pmdd. it's called prometrium, and it is some form of progesterone that is allegedly natural (not synthetic) and allegedly absorbed by the body through the digestive system. i feel pretty skeptical and was wondering if anyone had heard of or tried this treatment.
thank you.
