Hi,
Just wondering about some other peoples experiences on what works? Antidepressants, birth control pills? Has anyone trien both and had better experience with one or the other? Has anyone had a blood test to check hormone levels? Which hormone was out of whack?
I have had problems with anxiety and depression my whole life, but now at 34 it is clearly becoming cyclical with my period. It starts anywhere from about 10-12 days before me period. It starts with horrible anxiety and feeling kinda manic like I must do everything at once, very irritable, irrational, easily angered, edgey, moody ,horrible;;;than a few days before I get my period it turns to horrible depression. It seriously feels like I have a huge weight sitting on my brain, It physically feels like that. Anyone else experience this?? Than I just feel so sad, lonely, down, hopeless and have thoughts of suicide. Not that I would auctually do it, but I just think about death and thoughts race through my head like "what if I just drove off the road right now"? it seems like with every cycle the last few months especiallt it is getting worse and worse. I have been on effexor for about 20 months along with trazadone at night to sleep. My dr. also just prescribed xanax. Should I try birth control pills too? Would love to hear from others who understand...i feel so alone

Hi-
I was just wondering what info you found on lexapro. I ask because my DR wanted me to take it but I am so afraid of meds. I did a lot of reading online about lexapro and at one point found nothing wrong with it. So I filled the script and I was going to start taking it last sat. Well on fri, the night before, I found a site that said so many bad things about lexapro that now I am too scared to take it. What do you think? I know that not everyone will react to it but from what I read, I am afraid to even try. Let me know what you think.
