Hi, I am 21 and unlike many of my friends and family members I seem to have extreme pms or pmdd. I turn into a different person the week before menstration. I get very moody and don't want to do any of my normal activites-- i just want to be alone ( which is not like me at all) I also get intense food cravings and end up gaining around 5 lbs each month due to this. I am normally a healthy eater and active friendly person, but during this week, I'm not the same. I also have dizzy spells and bad cramps that end in throwing up or just passing out. i get really bloated and can't wear any of my clothes and don't even want to go out in public or speak to anyone---can anyone help me with this?

thanks

ash

Hi Ash, welcome to the board.

There are a number of things you can do to alleviate your symptoms (you will find all the advice you need in this regard by reading through the older posts).

However, I would highly recommend you go and see a gyneacologist asap as your physical symptoms do seem quite severe and could be an indication for a reproductive disorder (pco's, endometriosis, etc. etc.) Only a qualified gyno can give you an accurate diagnosis. If you do have a disorder of some sort and it is treated correctly, you may well find your pms symptoms lessening, or even disappearing altogether.

So your first step is really to go and see the doc and get a proper physical examination and check-up to make sure that there isn't anything else going on there exacerbating symptoms premenstrually.

All the best, and let us know how it goes.
