Response to How to make hair look like everyone else's

Welcome! I know what you mean about not knowing what to do. Hair care is pretty individualized as what works for one doesn't always work for someone else. Check out the signatures at the bottom of the posts and look for someone with similar hair texture and try what they do.

Unfortunately it is a slow process. I find the more gently I treat my hair the better it gets over time. (If you have a lot of splits you can always just snip them off or trim 1/2 inch off and see if there is an improvement)

I use just what clings to the tip of my finger of EVOO daily. I use it just on the last 3 inches of my ends to help work out the snarls and keep it soft. I like coconut oil too and I use the cooking stuff like you. I find my hair looks better 3 days after I shampoo (I'm in my 50's and I produce less oil than when I was young so I wash less frequently) than right after and that is when I take my pictures.

Stay around a while and enjoy our fellowship. Take your time and enjoy the process of discovering what your hair needs.

My new mantra: 2008 to a hemline that's great!

Olive oil on ends just before combing to help with snarls, 2x a day.

Shampoo every 5 days with Clairol's Shimmer Lights, and follow up with Suave for kids 2 in one shampoo no more tangle formula.
Experimenting with ACV, coconut oil, honey, and cholesterol.

Started measuring August 06, at 36.5 inches
1cCii ~ Natural Silver

July 1st - Reached 40 inches
July 14 - Cut back to 36.5

36.5/38.5/Classic

Faithful to barbers - they actually trim 1/8th of an inch!!
