Second, are you looking for an actual curler, or just making rag curls? If it's just rag curls, I found several articles, but only this one had pictures:

In this tutorial, she actually uses plastic freezer bags, but in the other articles I read people suggested tearing up old t-shirts or bedsheets.
If you do a search on YouTube, you can find several videos showing how to use this method.
