googling half up dos, formal updos, wedding updos, bridal updos, etc and did find a lot of styles but as you say, curls seem to be in.
With your hair you might be able to take a section from each side and simply tie a knot (as you would with a shoelace or ribbon) and secure with your hairsticks. Or try doing a braided or rope bun with just half your hair, use your sticks to secure and leave the rest hanging down nice and sleek. I think people associate curls with romance but there's no reason you have to have curls on your wedding day. Far better to find something that complements your hair than be fighting with your hair the whole day long.

Current routine: (Trying to keep it as simple as possible): WC on the weekend following medium oiling; scalp washes every second day; oiling 2-3 nights per week; mid-week conditioning with honey and ACV in water; S&D when I think of it; and dusting every 8-12 weeks.
Shampoo:
Organic Instincts diluted with herbal tea (rosemary and chamomile).
Conditioners:
A'Kin Protein or Moisturising Conditioner mixed with honey (1 tablespoon of each).
Oils: Favourite is almond oil. Occasionally will use a blend of coconut, almond, olive in the ratio 2:1:1 in summer or as a deep oiling treatment.
Other: ACV infused with herbs (depending upon availability I use a selection of lavender, rosemary, cinnamon, sage, and thyme); BBB; wooden comb; Mason Pearson comb; pure aloe vera gel for smoothing flyaways and fixing hair in place.
