I'm not an active person either when it comes to sports. The styles I do are usually sturdy enough to last throughout my day, which includes running to and fro, mostly from my house to my uni and vice versa.
But, since you are going to a summer camp, I suppose you will be wearing lots of hats or at least headcovers. In that case, your best bet would be French/Dutch braids, especially if you can tuck them, or fold them under. Braids are compatible with hats, and if you fold under the length of the braid, nothing can damage it.

- NW/SO on the scalp, with periodical length
washes (Alverde birke-salbei shampoo for the length)
- brushing, scritching, preening and massaging daily
- occasional S&D trims
- trimming the ends whenever they start looking funny
