I didn't really know what to call this, but since I was trying to come up with bridal styles, I went with the bridal bun.
Divide your hair into two sections straight down the middle, as shown here, only without putting it in a ponytail first.
Cross one section over the other, creating an X at your nape. Slide a bobby pin in place, just catching a bit of the hair so your X stays fixed in place while you move on to the next steps.
Now, while holding your two parts, take a small section out of the right inner side and make that your third part. You really don't want your parts even. You want your third part to be much smaller. This is what creates that rope-like look in the center, while the larger parts create the fullness.
Braid the three parts together starting with the part on your right and passing it under center, then left under center. This would be like a traditional Dutch braid, braiding underhanded instead of overhand. It should look something like this.
If your hair tends to come undone, you'll need to secure the end of your braid with a small band. It's not important to braid all the way to the end since the hair is going to be wrapped into a loop and then pinned under.
Roll your hair around your hand, similar to the way shown in the Ficcare Flip style.
Depending on how low or high you want your style to be, roll tighter for a shorter, higher positioning, roll looser, not all the way up for a lower look as I've done. You will pin your hair at your nape to secure.
Once your hair is pinned there, you will have part of your braid hanging down. You will need to look at your braid loops and see how they are laying. If they don't look like they are laying flat, which they probably won't, catch the edge of a loop with your finger and pull it apart a bit. Here I am showing you the two loops you will work with.
You don't have to use one hand per side, but can do one side at a time instead. I showed both here to give you a better idea of how to separte the braid loops.
Position your loop up against your head, then use a bobby pin and slide in to secure. I secured my left side and my center, but more than likely, you'll need to do the right and left.
Make sure you have secured your loops in the position you like... I used a bobby pin here.
You can wear it plain...
Or add some flowers by getting some of the paper roses in the craft department. Bend the little wires up until the end is up by the flower, and you have a loop for your stem. Slide the loop in the place you want your flowers to be. By having the end up by the flower, it won't catch in your hair.
