My no pins needed bun...

May 26 2012 at 12:56 PM

I have been looking at all the neat stuff and wondered if anyone here would be interested in my "No Pins Bun" as my brother calls it. It is easy and gives our length a "break" from pins, barrets and the like. I don't know how to post pics etc but I believe that I can explain it if anyone is interested please let me know.
Love this site and can't wait until I am more adept at sharing pictures etc...

Yes, certainly!

I'm always interested in learning new buns, and a no pin one would be very welcome! Granted, I have a had time with pinless buns, thanks to my length-thickness ratio, so I will look forward to your instructions happy.gif

Oh, and sharing pictures is not difficult at all. It depends on which host for photos you are using, though. If you are using your realm from your Network54 account to store pics, then there is an article in the Library about posting them. You can use basically any other service, like Picasa or Photobucket. I believe they all work on the same principle: you find the code for embedding a picture, provided by the host, copy it and paste it in the message text here. Don't worry, you will get the hang of it wink.gif

Hair type: 2b/M/C/iii
Current length: classic
Primary goal: thickening the ends

Hair journal:

- NW/SO on the scalp, with periodical length
washes (Alverde birke-salbei shampoo for the length)
- brushing, scritching, preening and massaging daily
- occasional S&D trims
- trimming the ends whenever they start looking funny

The No Pins Bun Instructions

May 30 2012, 2:32 PM

Gather hair into a ponytail, (high, medium or low) twist as if to make a regular bun. Make one twist around then pull the length through the middle of the bun. My is so long I leave it looped instead of pulling it all the way through. However, your length will depend on how you proceed. If it is shorter, pull through and then tuck under, pulling back through center to "lock", if longer leave looped and tuck under pulling through to lock the looped length. Sometimes I have to do it a couple times to get it tight as I perfer. But once you mess with it and figure it out you will love it. My hair will hold all day if it is a bit damp when I do it. I have done many vigorous activities and even slept in this bun. I love it, hope you will too...
If this is unclear, I will have a friend take pics and I will do my best to put them up for y'all to "see" it better... wink.gif

First I have to have help taking the pics then I have to figure out how to get them on this page lol. The articles make sense but my computer is new to me and technology confuses me on my best days... To be continued...
