Hairsticks, styling book, henna and banana clip [edited]

November 3 2006, 8:52 AM

I’d like to sell/swap (anything hair related, give me suggestions) the following things:

  • One Lush caca rouge block (11.4oz/325g).
  • Hair, a book of braiding and styles by Anne Akers Johnson. ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1570540187/002-5245651-4772005?v=glance&n=283155 ) The book is in great condition (like new) but I’ve used the scrunchies that came with it so they will not be included.
  • Two pairs of hairsticks. There's nothing wrong with them, they're in great condition but I just never use them anymore.
  • Banana clip.

First pair of hairsticks are 5" long (without topper), straight wooden sticks with faceted deep red and silver (mirror-like reflection) beads finished of with silver cross dangle. I'm selling these for $10 (+ shipping, $3.5 in Europe, $4.5 outside Europe) or swapping them.

redcross1.jpgredcross2.jpg

Second pair of hairsticks are 5" long (without topper), straight, white wooden sticks with handmade blue glassbead with a beautiful pattern in gold, pink and white. On top sits a semi-transparent white glass-bead. I'm selling these for $6 (+ shipping, $3.5 in Europe, $4.5 outside Europe) or swapping them.

whiteflower1.jpg whiteflower2.jpg

And here's the banana clip:

bananaclip.jpg

The clip is 4.5" long and 1.5" wide. It has only been tried on once and I'll include it for free if you want something else from me or I'll sell it for $3 (shipping cost).

Contact me either here or on e-mail: mail_adress.jpg

Maria, the photos of your hairsticks...

November 3 2006, 9:13 AM

...aren't visible. Do you have a link to Photobucket or similar? I'd really like to see them.

****Nevermind, I can see them now, sorry 'bout that. Little gremlins in my computer today...****

As for me, I'll be posting my items a little later today, once I get my camera fired up...

Thanks!

Hair sticks, Ida's bars, misc. stuff... *edited*

November 3 2006, 9:28 AM

*SPOKEN FOR*I have some left over soap / shampoo bars from Ida that I just hate to throw out.  I had always cut the bars into smaller pieces to use them, so these might be a little odd shaped from me cutting pieces off of them.  They're not really big, so might be good for someone who just wants to try them out.

*chamomile & citrus shampoo bar - 1.4oz

*goat milk oatmeal & honey soap bar - 2.8oz(soap bars are also good for hair!

*primrose complexion soap bar - .8oz (about half a sample size)

SPOKEN FOR*Ida's multi-butter lotion bar - (works good for moisturizing ends of hair) - used once (and used fingertips... I didn't rub it directly on my hair or anything )

SPOKEN FOR*pair of hairsticks pictured below.  Length is 5 5/8" including beads.  Never used, still in package (picture is of them before packaging took place.)

sticks.jpg

*Set of 2 brown sidecombs (3 1/2") and package of banana clips, (5" in brown, tortoise, white, black) both by goody.  Opened but unused.

Will swap for any hair goodies or sell if preferred.  Thanks!

Hairsticks, Hairdini, Beadini, Pony Clips, Headband

November 3 2006, 11:44 AM

These items are all in great condition and it feels like such a waste to have them go unused, so I'm hoping someone else might enjoy them. I'm willing to sell or trade:

1) Chinese Red Lacquer Hairsticks, 9" long

2) Hairdini, 7" long; with instructions

3) Beadini's, three sets -- black beads, natural wood beads, and black with gold beads; with instructions

4) Pony tail clips, one black, one tortoise-shell

5) Stretchy toothed headband

Hair toys!

November 3 2006, 12:58 PM

Hang on a minute while I take some pictures and upload them ...

Here we go:

Evita Peroni hairsticks:

The stick is clear plastic, and some of the yellow/goldy beads are attached to wires which can be reshaped.

This also has a clear plastic stick under the pearl-like beaded topper.

Similar to the first set, but there is only one of these and it is a darker color.

I LOVE these hairsticks and HATE to put them up for swap!

I bought these from a long-haired online friend, and they are just lovely. They are Bengal Tiger sticks; orange with black markings. But because my hair is thick and quite long, these sticks can't hold them up. Waah!

These were also bought from a long-haired friend - Anne - and I have to put them up for swap for the same reason. I was silly and chose a shorter length stick, and they don't hold my hair up at all .

Oh no, I've lost the pictures for two more sticks and my Bunjee... I'll have to retake the pics and then post them!

Love,
~*Leia*~

A couple more...

November 3 2006, 1:05 PM

Evita Peroni sticks:

These are a clear, sparkly, light blue color, with curved tops. Quite cute, especially for younger girls with long hair.

A dark blue Bunjee:

Oh, I forgot to say what I was willing to swap for! I am pretty much open to suggestions. I have to say that I love most fiction books, old or new if you have any lying around that you want to get rid of ... in terms of hair-related items I love hairsticks, but they have to be really sturdy like Fox's sticks ... I also love scarves ... and if you really can't think of anything you can decide on a fair price and let me know. Reply either on the board or e-mail me .

Love,
~*Leia*~

Bengal tiger sticks & bunjii

November 3 2006, 11:23 PM

I am interested in your tiger hair sticks and your bunjii.  I actually have a scarf that you might like (I am not at home right now, but will get a pic to you ASAP), or you can look at the items I have for swap.  If all else fails, I would like to possibly buy them from you.  Just let me know.  Thanks a bunch.

And by the way, I just love your beautiful hair!

I have a little bit of a hair toy collection, so I really need to downsize!  My hair is so thick that it is hard for me to use most of these. I love the little barrettes, but they will not work in my hair. I have never even worn most of them! I e-mailed you a photo of the slide.

I would please like to see a picture of the kashmir blue slide, if Kara hasn't claimed it yet And maybe closer pics of the green and purple dragonfly barrettes, and the dragonfly bobby pins. I may also be interested in the black whiribun, but now quite sure how those work -- can't find anything on google.

Not sure what I have to trade, I am at work now but can see what I have in my collection when I get home. If you want you can email me at blushing_viking @ yahoo . com (minus the spaces, of course).

Ok, folks... enter "taking up huge amounts of space in my bathroom"!

November 10 2006, 10:04 PM

See, this is exactly what I'm talking about... If I can get all this stuff out of my bathroom, I will be one happy gal!

(Lots of pics, please be patient if it is slow loading)

So, here's the deal: If you see anything you are interested in, let me know. If you have something that you would like to swap, that's cool, just let me know what you have.

If you don't have anything to swap, that's cool too.

Basically, I just want to get rid of all of this, so I am giving everything away, and I am only charging actual shipping on all items. The money I spent on this stuff is already gone and forgotten about, so if you want something, just pay for actual shipping, and it is yours. (I am in Wisconsin, USA in case anyone is curious)

So, here are the goodies... and since some of you are ingredient junkies, I photographed the ingredient list of each bottle too. (Because I am NOT going to type that all out!)

1. ARTec Brunettes Mahogany color depositing shampoo (nearly full).
This was a little too dark for my tastes... it is like a dark, almost burgundy color. I was looking for something a little more auburn.

*****************

2. Infusium 23 Moisturizing Shampoo (half full).
I liked this shampoo, but found something I like better, so this never got used.

******************

3. Physique curl defining shampoo (half full).
Again, found something I liked better.

*******************

4. Creme of Nature Nourishing Conditioner, Maroon Label (half full)
All natural just does NOT work for my hair... my hair needs cones!

*********************

5. Creme of Nature Detangling Conditioning Shampoo, Green Label (3/4 full)
Just didn't work for me.

*************************

6. SPOKEN FOR - Lil Irish Angel
Nature's Gate Rainwater Henna Shampoo (over 3/4 full)

*************************

7. SPOKEN FOR - Lil Irish Angel
Aveda Scalp Benefits Shampoo (3/4 full)
I REALLY wanted this to work on my super-duper DRYYYY scalp. My hair felt great, but it was no match for my ultra dry scalp skin.

**************************

8. Trendline Liquid Gel, Strong Hold (Full, never used)
Somehow I let a hairstylist talk me into buying this, but I don't use gel! I don't know what I was thinking. (mulitply that by three or four... more gel to come)

****************************

9. SPOKEN FOR - Ohio Lisa
Paul Mitchell Slick Works "Texture and shine gel" (Full, never used)
I got talked into this one too...

****************************

10. SPOKEN FOR - Lil Irish Angel
Aveda Scalp Benefits Conditioner (over 3/4 full)
After the shampoo didn't work for me, I gave up on the whole product line.

****************************

11. SPOKEN FOR - Ohio Lisa
Physique Keep It Straight gel, medium hold (practically full)
Somehow I thought that I could have straight hair with this... no go on an ultra-curly! (and, I don't wear gel)

****************************

12. Physique Curl Creating Gel, High hold (practically full)
Need I say more?

*****************************

13. Pantene ProV Hydrating Curls Shampoo (1/4 full)
I actually really liked this shampoo, but I had to take a break from it as it made my hair almost TOO slippery (a terrible problem, I know). Plus, I've been using something different that I really like, so this one has been taking up space for a while.

*****************************

14. SPOKEN FOR - Lil Irish Angel
Nature's Gate Natural Jojoba Conditioner (approx 1/2 full)
I really tried to like this one, but the all-natural route just isn't for me.

****************************

15. L'Oreal Lasting Curls gel (maybe half-full)
I tried this one for a while, then realized once again that I don't like gel. (This is what you end up with when you try to fight your hair type!)

******************************

16. SPOKEN FOR - Lil Irish Angel
(6) Elastic, Hair-Friendly Headbands, approx 1/2 inch wide (unsure of diameter)
I bought these, then realized that I apparantly have a "cone-head." These headbands just slide up and sproing off the top of my head and are basically useless to me.

****************************

17. SPOKEN FOR - Ohio Lisa
(3) Medium sized Plastic Claw Clips (approx 3.5 inches long)
I love claw clips, but for some reason this size just doesn't work well in my hair

*****************************

18. (1) Iradescent Round Plastic Claw Clip (approx 6 or 7 inches long)
My hair is just too thick for this one. It's very pretty though!

***************************

19. And lastly (Finally!) (2) Stretchy-tooth headbands (dark blue, light blue)
I really like these, and I kept one for myself, but I have somewhat of the same "cone-head" problem with these... only these don't sproing off my head, they just slowly move back until they basically make a ponytail.

****************************

So that's it! Almost two entire shelves worth of stuff out of my bathroom! Take it, please!

I guestimated on the amounts in the bottles, and all but the Pantene Shampoo are at least half full. I estimated on the low side for now, and when I have them in front of me again, I'll edit this post to put the correct product levels. (I brought everything to my studio to photograph it, and didn't feel like bringing it all back home.)

So, if there is anything that you want, please let me know! Everything is up for grabs, and all you pay is actual shipping!

If you want something, I would prefer an email (qshark at qshark dot com), since I might not be able to check back on this page as often as necessary. I will edit this page to note when things have been taken.

I hope someone out there can use this stuff!!!

Enjoy!

Stuff to Swap

November 11 2006, 12:34 PM

Ok, here's just a miscellany of things to swap. I may be willing to give some of these away for the cost of shipping. I'm willing to trade for hair sticks, small/ medium scrunchis (I have too many large/ normal sized ones), medium to large hair slides, Aubrey shampoos and conditioners (I've been wanting to try their GPB, Chamomile Luxurious, and Blue Chamomile lines), or . . . ?

Since I randomly look at these boards as time permits, if you are interested in anything please email me direct (blushing_viking @ yahoo . com) I am editing as things are spoken for.

#1 Mason Pearson detangling comb. SPOKEN FOR

#2 Red/ orange chopsticks. They're just too long for my tatses. Never used.

#3 Plastic brown tortoishell stick with a neat twist at the top. It's mate broke, and I haven't used this in soooo long.

#4 Purple chopsticks. Again, just too long. Never used.

#5 Neat thing someone gave me that I don't use -- my fine hair tends to be too slippery for it, or I don't know how to use it correctly. Cloth covered wire that you can twist hair around for a bun or other updos.

#6 Wooden beads headband. These are strung on stretchy elastic.

#7 Brown plastic hair slide. SPOKEN FOR

#8 Plastic tortoiseshell french twist comb. I've tried it a couple times, but just couldn't get the hang of this style and it's not one I care enough about to work through it.

#10 Brown plastic toroisehsell bananna clip. I like these, but have a hard time getting them to not slide out of my hair.

#11 Metal hair pins, some are thick and some thin. I have so many of these, I will probably never use them all up, so am getting rid of half.

#12 This is a hair clip SPOKEN FOR

several Fakkares

I don't know what to ask for in swap, I just know that these don't hold my hair.  I believe that they would be better for someone with finer hair.

The one on the far left is dark metalic grey, next to it is silver.  The brown one is plastic or resin--seems very sturdy.  The one on the far right is silver with teal and green flowers/leaves.

to give away

November 12 2006, 10:31 AM

I got these for two or three dollars.  They came in a pack of eight: four gold and four silver.  I simply don't wear gold so I will send them to anyone who wants them.
