i would be interested in hearinga bout the location of the museum, i see from your profile
that you live in Bangkok, Thailand. Is the museum in Bangkok and if so where abouts?.
I am planning a trip too south east asia at the start of next year and would love too spend
some time at your museum.
-------------
My reply :
Thanks for your comments and interest!
Jeremy, the Enterprise is an old kit from Tamiya, it's 20-30 years old. I'd rather build
the Nimitz 1:350 newly-released from Trumpeter. It has much more details and I'll have
one built soon along with Sovremenny Destroyer in the same scale.
I don't charge entrance fee. Will be glad to welcome you someday...
James, I'm in Bangkok, in Klongton area. I can send you a graphic file showing the
map to my home in Thai language which you can print out and show to the cab driver,
Just send me an e-mail.

Hi Falcon,
So, which one is the "Art Instructor" in the picture? If I have to put my money I have to say it's the
lovely lady in the pink!
Oh by the way, do you have a open bar in the museum?
WC
-------------
My reply :
Thanks for your comments and queries!
Shay, I've been collecting (on and off) for some 40 years.
I guess I have around 1300-1400 built kits (total kits purchased is around 1900, a few hundreds
still in box), it's almost impossible to count for exact number. And my collection keeps growing
by the day. Tomorrow I'll get some new finished kits delivered to my home.
WC, that lady is my friend's spouse, she's not "Art Instructor". "Art Instructor" is this guy :

[/img]
The museum is crowded with display cases, so there's no bar inside. But we can have one outside.
Take a look at the surroundings :

To compliment your collection of models, i would place either actual war photos or photos of
tanks etc on the walls. Theres nothing better than allowing a person in the museum to have
a point of comparison when viewing these lovely models.
--------------
My reply :
Thanks Jeremy! That's a nice idea. I'll see what pictures I can find, but maybe only A4 size.

I don't suppose there's any chance of taking that collection on an international tour?
--------------
My reply :
Thanks for your interest and enquries.
nihil, that's impossible!, there are some 1400-1500 built kits. I'm not Superman.
Several people suggested that I should have nameplate for each and every piece
which is a very difficult job because of the volume.
Tom, it's also impossible to move my collection anywhere. These things are so
dilicate and fragile. But you're always welcome to Thailand to have a look.

Thank you so much for all kind comments & blessings!
Telling you the truth, I still don't know how to go about the museum. A Malaysian modeler/friend who's
a tour operator in KL who's been to my place a few times sent me the address of the publisher of the
book "100 Museums in Bangkok" so that I can submit mine, but I'm still reluctant to do so. It it became
a tourist attraction and a lot of tour groups flooded in,
I might not be able to handle...
But ofcourse, my collection will grow bigger, and I'll keep posting new models & dio's for sure.

Hey model maniac, well that could be such a work, I mean to receive a lot of turist and I
understand your hesitation about going public... but why don't you try to public only in
modeling magazines or webs? that way you won't get an entire sea of turists just visiting
"museums" around bangkok, but people really interestet in what you do, so your focusing
in the modeling target. The problem with museum guides is that turists will visit as much
as they can from the guide without even knowing what is all about, just to "get to know
everything", but going public in the modeling area only will catch people interested in
your work itself. I know it's not easy to find magazines and stuff willing to help... but hey,
I'm a web developer so just tell me and I can give you a hand in the web area.
Good Luck and stay in touch!

Absolutely beautiful work. You definitely have a dilemma. It would be a crime if these
fine works were not available to others, but I certainly see what you mean about tourists.
Perhaps you could publicize your museum with a caveat that "visits are by request only."
I am not that savvy on such things, so that may not work.
Again, outstanding work.

Many thanks for your kind comments and recommendations, Colonel_paz and Hutch!
Colonel_paz, I think I'll publicize it only on modeling magazines and websites as you
suggested. So far I haven't told the location of my museum but let interested persons apply
by e-mail, telling something about themselves like name, address, phone no., age
and occupation, then I sent them the map to my home. It's semi-open or "visit by
request" as Hutch suggested. Anyway, I'll keep the on-line version of my museum
updated so that anyone can see without having to come over to Thailand. But if you
have a chance to visit Thailand, I'll be glad to welcome you all. Cheers!

Wow. Fantastic. Do you think if I ask nicely that my Mrs will let me display all my models
in our frony room like that?
Fantastic again. There's alot of hours gone into making those. Is it open to the public at all?
It'll be well worth a visit.

Many thanks for more kind comments and inquiries since my previous reply.
trawlfazz, plants don't need a showroom, models do. You'll see lot of plants around.
Thanato, I think I have around 1,400 built kits. The museum does not open daily
or on weekends. Interested persons may contact by e-mail in advance of their visit.
Next month at X-mas time I'll welcome a visitor from Russia who's the builder of my
Panther 1:8. So if you have a chance to visit Thailand any day, welcome to my museum.
There's no entrance fee.
Rich, you may try asking her when she's in good mood. Tell her that my mother
let me display my models in and around her house. Welcome to my place some day.

Buck, I'm afraid I can't join the event because I have to work for a living (and money to buy
models) and the work is getting harder near year's end. And I don't like flying too, I feel safer
on my motorbike.
Tanker, yes I'm in the middle. jepot said "a face comes to complete the picture!", I wonder
