ดู๊ด เทคนิคการทำน้ำนั้นค่อนข้างเรียบง่าย ตามนี้เลย :
Art Instructor's Method of Water and Wake Creation
==========================================
1. Mix clear resin with a lot of speeding agent so that it dries fast. Pour the mixed
liquid onto desired areas a little at a time (say 10-15 ml) in multi-layer style. Use a
brush to guide the direction of liquid flow to form the shape of current around desired
lines or areas.
2. The top layer of the liquid will become sticky in about 3 minutes. It's time to create white wakes.
Use shapen device such as pencil-tip or sharpen stick to pierce into the drying liquid many many
times (this is a time consuming job!), this will break up the drying liquid creating wakes and turn its
color into white naturally. That's it!
If you want blue water, Art Instructor suggests you to paint blue on the base of the dio, not mix blue
color into resin liquid because colored resin will not turn into white wakes once pierced. It will
become blue wakes which is unreal.
Look at this Pibber Dio which he built some six years ago using the same technique,
he painted buff color on the base so that the water looks like river water :
Does that sound easy? You just try out. Practice makes perfect!
PS. Before trying this technique, please be informed that resin may be hazardous
to your health not to mention its terrible smell. A gas mask is advised for this job!

ใช้วัสดุปลายแหลมเช่นปลายดินสอหรือไม้เหลาแหลมเจาะเข้าไปในของเหลวที่กำลังจะแข็งตัวหลายๆ ครั้ง
(นี่เป็นงานที่ใช้เวลามาก) มันจะทำให้ของเหลวที่กำลังจะแข็งตัวนั้นแตกกระจายกลายเป็นฟองคลื่น
และเปลี่ยนสีของมันให้เป็นสีขาวตามธรรมชาติ ก็แค่นั้นเอง!
หากคุณต้องการน้ำสีฟ้า อาร์ท อินสตรั้คเต้อร์ แนะนำให้คุณพ่นสีฟ้าบนฐานของไดโอ ไม่ใช่
ผสมสีฟ้าลงในเรซินเหลว เพราะว่าเรซินที่ผสมสีจะไม่กลายเป็นฟองคลื่นสีขาวเมื่อถูกเจาะ มันจะ
กลายเป็นฟองคลื่นสีฟ้าซึ่งไม่สมจริง
มันฟังดูง่ายใช่ไหม? คุณลองทำดู การฝึกฝนช่วยให้สมบูรณ์แบบได้!
ปล. ก่อนจะทดลองเทคนิคนี้ โปรดทราบว่าเรซินอาจจะเป็นอันตรายต่อสุขภาพของคุณ

Second, I don't think any LVT's where used in Normandy, most being sent to the pacific...

Ah here it is. Wonderful, smashing really. I do agree with Sun Tsu on the fact that there
LVTs were not in use in Europe, but it has little importace. Great water, looks really realistic.
Perhaps, considering that it is Omaha beach you depict, there should be some red in the water.
Great details on the figures too. One of Art Instructor's best!

Nice builds.
It's a pity Heller didn't cast a correct AUF1 gun. The hull is quite different from their early
AMX30 hull, the turret is not fully accurate but remains suitable.

I dont see it. I wish , but they tend to do more modern modern these days. More like a LeClerc
variant. Now if they'd do some French troops from Ivory coast , I'd be happy. Guts the way

No, no LVTs were used in Normandy although there was an image found to suggest that some
may have been landed a week or two later... The AMTANK was only used in the Pacific..Jim

Nice and simple and outstanding work on the water. Compliments to Art Instructor.
He's finally paid attention to all the details. I like the wet clothes a lot too. Since it's
made to order, I guess he can't be blamed for the LVT being on Omaha! Change of figs
and it could be Tarawa.
Isn't there a Thai language chapter of Armorama that Art Instructor could join?

Hi,
Anyone who looks at this can't help but be impressed by the realistic effect that's been
created here.
The positioning of the figures both taking cover and struggling those last few yards
through the surf is excellent.
One of the best I've seen so far. The water effect is fabulous. As suggested I'd change
the location of the action but other than that a really cool dio.

Pardon me for wrong choice of armor. After all I'm a modeler not a war historian. At least
both the armor and figures were WWII. Y' know, the last time I made bigger mistake by
matching Trumpeter's KV-1 with Dragon's Soviet Tank Crew. That sounded good until
someone told me later that the crew were modern ones!
Many people want to know about the water technique,
so I asked Art Instructor for details and here it is :

ดังนั้นผมจึงถามรายละเอียดจากอาร์ท อินสตรั้คเต้อร์ และมันอยู่นี่แล้ว
Art Instructor's Method of Water and Wake Creation
==========================================
1. Mix clear resin with a lot of speeding agent so that it dries fast. Pour the mixed
liquid onto desired areas a little at a time (say 10-15 ml) in multi-layer style. Use a
brush to guide the direction of liquid flow to form the shape of current around desired
lines or areas.
2. The top layer of the liquid will become sticky in about 3 minutes. It's time to create white wakes.
Use shapen device such as pencil-tip or sharpen stick to pierce into the drying liquid many many
times (this is a time consuming job!), this will break up the drying liquid creating wakes and turn its
color into white naturally. That's it!
If you want blue water, Art Instructor suggests you to paint blue on the base of the dio, not mix blue
color into resin liquid because colored resin will not turn into white wakes once pierced. It will
become blue wakes which is unreal.
Look at this Pibber Dio which he built some six years ago using the same technique,
he painted buff color on the base so that the water looks like river water :
Does that sound easy? You just try out. Practice makes perfect!
PS. Before trying this technique, please be informed that resin may be hazardous
to your health not to mention its terrible smell. A gas mask is advised for this job!

ใช้วัสดุปลายแหลมเช่นปลายดินสอหรือไม้เหลาแหลมเจาะเข้าไปในของเหลวที่กำลังจะแข็งตัวหลายๆ ครั้ง
(นี่เป็นงานที่ใช้เวลามาก) มันจะทำให้ของเหลวที่กำลังจะแข็งตัวนั้นแตกกระจายกลายเป็นฟองคลื่น

ผสมสีฟ้าลงในเรซินเหลว เพราะว่าเรซินที่ผสมสีจะไม่กลายเป็นฟองคลื่นสีขาวเมื่อถูกเจาะ มันจะ
กลายเป็นฟองคลื่นสีฟ้าซึ่งไม่สมจริง
ลองดูไดโอพิบเบ้อร์ (เรือพีบีอาร์) อันนี้ซึ่งเขาทำขึ้นเมื่อประมาณหกปีมาแล้ว เขาพ่นสีเหลืองทึมๆ
ลงบนฐานเพื่อให้น้ำนั้นดูเหมือนน้ำในแม่น้ำ

Apparently you are just a model collector, there is a differance. Putting a little research
into your collectibles that you have built wouldn't be too hard. You would have historically
correct pieces as well. Not just nice looking models.

This techinique would be well suited to modelling snow/ice on road verges etc.
Seems the more you 'prick' the setting resin the more build up you can make,
and the jagged crystallic effect would lend itself well to this
Nice dio Phaisal- he/she must be complimented on the sand finish also, as there
is no mistaking this as a beach even without water and LVT

I believe Phaisal proved you wrong on that one last time you brought it up Gino,
why is it you always bring that up, i really dont understand.
I myself put a M41 with US Markings in a Hue diorama back when i was just getting
started, posted photo's, yet no one hounded me on it
Phaisal, was this one your own or art instructors?
As one of the guys said, a DD Sherman in place of the LVT would fix it right up, maybe
you could suggest this to art instructor, and see what he can do.
Regardless of the misplacement of the LVT, it is a very nicely done diorama, and the
water is outstanding.

Thanks, Jurrie! The Kubelwagen 1:9, though some 20-30 years old (Esci's old mould),
is very detailed. It sports working suspension, all doors open/close and working steering
wheel. Measured 41.6 cm long, it's sure a good kit, same as all other 1:9 vehicles
originated by Esci and re-released by both Dragon and Revell.

Would have to agree, the water is just excellent. The smaller ripples near the shore
and the wetter looking area where the water meets sand is superb. Figure painting and
posing is great too.
A how to model water segment would certainly be useful (if you're willing to give up
your secrets!) and a great addition to the Behind The Scene(ry) thread.

With the VW, I love the weathering. Nice work.

Looks pretty good. Not historically correct though. LVT's were not in the initial invaion at
Normandy. They were brought ashore, unopposed, about a week after D-Day. They were
used all over the Pacific though. Different uniform (USMC) for the figures and it could be a
Pacific landing.
He'll have to ask Art Instructor how he did the water effects and get back to you, since he
didn't do/build them himself.

Beautiful diorama. The water is superb. It looks very realistic. The figures and the
LVT is excellent. Hat's off to Art Instructor. My only constructive critism is the LVT(A)1.
The American army did not use it in Normandy. LVT4 were used in Germany in 1945
in preparation to cross the Roer and Rhine river. LVT(A)1s were used in the Pacific
(Marshall islands, Tarawa, Eniwetok, Marianas).

I think everyone has watch the movie "The Longest Day". And, I didn't noticed any
LTV there. Anyway, I like the dio, the H20 is very realistic.

choice of armor, but at least this time both the armor and the figures were WWII !
Buck, Art Instructor used clear resin to make the water and wakes. Here's the process.

บัค อาร์ท อินสครั้คเต้อร์ใช้เรซินใสเพื่อสร้างน้ำและคลื่น กระบวนการมีดังนี้
Art Instructor's Method of Water and Wake Creation
=====================================
1. Mix clear resin with a lot of speeding agent so that it dries fast. Pour the mixed
liquid onto desired areas a little at a time (say 10-15 ml) in multi-layer style. Use a
brush to guide the direction of liquid flow to form the shape of current around desired
lines or areas.
2. The top layer of the liquid will become sticky in about 3 minutes. It's time to create white wakes.
Use shapen device such as pencil-tip or sharpen stick to pierce into the drying liquid many many
times (this is a time consuming job!), this will break up the drying liquid creating wakes and turn its
color into white naturally. That's it!
If you want blue water, Art Instructor suggests you to paint blue on the base of the dio, not mix blue
color into resin liquid because colored resin will not turn into white wakes once pierced. It will
become blue wakes which is unreal.
Look at this Pibber Dio which he built some six years ago using the same technique,
he painted buff color on the base so that the water looks like river water :
Does that sound easy? You just try out. Practice makes perfect!
PS. Before trying this technique, please be informed that resin may be hazardous
to your health not to mention its terrible smell. A gas mask is advised for this job!
