It's really a nice build. Allthough the tracks seem to be of a lesser quality than the rest of the kit.

Tommy, the guys in the bushes are firing their 8.8cm Raketenwerfer 43 'Puppchen'
McCoy, for the tree/bush, AI used the roots of "Saab Suoa" (tiger stink) plants which rural folks
use as broom. Just stick them up-side-down and the roots will become branches. Easy?

The individual elements of the diorama are nicely done, but overall it seems ... wrong.
What is the Pupchen doing there if the Flak is firing. Or, more to the point, what is the flak
doing there if the pak is engaging something (which given their stances they appear to be)?
Also, the flak crew seem to have generally relaxed poses, while the pak crew seem much
more alert and intense.

I think nothing is wrong, anything could happen in the battle fields. Flak and Pak go together
to protect each other. In this case, the Pak crew are engaging enemy armors approching them
from lower ground, so they're more intense.

Don't you think the flak crew might be a little ... distracted by close approach of a ground threat?
What are thye doing that close to the front anyway? They can't effectively perform their primary
role when under ground attack. I have no issue with flak weapons being on or near the front line,
but in direct LOS of a significant ground threat and engaging an aerial threat ... nah.
Sorry, as I said, the diorama has nice elements, but as a whole it doesn't tell a credible story.
If you have to explain the story in words, then the diorama has failed, IMO.

The Flak crew had their own duty - to fire at enemy planes. And how do you know that enemy
planes are not approching them too? As I told earlier, anything could happen in the battle fields.
The diorama has not failed. In fact, it has received much admiration same as other dioramas
built by the same modeler. Didn't you read others' comments before your own in this thread?

I already know the Flak is firing at (or at least aiming at) a plane - I can see that from the crews
stance and the elevation of the guns.
You're right, anything could happen, it's just that this thing is so improbable. It detracts from
the overall impression.
As for others comment, well, I think they're wrong. No, actually, they're right - the elements of
the diorama are nice (as I've said three times now), but the story the diorama is trying to tell
fails. IMO, this is a common failing with your dioramai: nice elements, but overall too cluttered
and/or the story is incoherent.
As a final thought, IIRC it is quite unlikely that there were many/any Puppchen in the Ardennes
anyway
If you only wanted "gee, that's great" comments you should have put that in your first post.

I think Jon has a point.Try replacing the figures in the foreground.But I won't suggest removing
the bush.Maybe you can put figures that depicts trying to hide from the aircraft overhead.
Or maybe crews trying to bring ammo to the Flak.So what did you use for the snow this time?
Did you buy that one from the U.S.with the web address I gave you?By the way, the ammo
casings that I meant are spent ones' from the Flak gun.I put some in my Flak gun in my earlier
diorama somewhere in the thread.

Loyd, I think this dio is already very good, there's no need for change. It's for my collection,
not for any contest anyway. I didn't buy the artificial snow from the US, it's expensive.
My modeler used fine salt and sodium bicarbonate for snow - same as his recent winter dio's.
Thanks for your suggestions about the spent casings, I'll ask my modeler to add some in his
future dio's. BTW, recently I saw barb wires on sale for about $11 at either squadron.com
or greatmodels.com. So in case you're too lazy to scratch build them, you can order on-line.

Larry, you're right about this kit - a true monster. While the Leopold has 1,140 parts
and the Morser Karl-Gerat (Late Version) on railway has 1,251 parts, this kit contains
1,361 parts! It's probably the kit with most parts ever released. It took "Art Instructor"
around 6 days to build. I gave him this kit, M730 A1, TO-55, Sd.Kfz. 7/1 and 8.8cm
Raketenwerfer w/ crew on 23 Sep. He delivered them all finished on 4 October,
meaning that it took him just 10 days to finish these 4 pieces of work :

Two days for 2 tanks, 2 days for the dio, leaving 6 days for this monstruous kit.

Superb! I believe the tank hasn't used it flamethrower extensively yet since there are
no singe marks in nearby areas...lthough I haven't seen a TO-55 in action yet.

details. This tank has an engine too, but it can't be seen. This kit is multi-media kit, with
resin flame thrower, plastic parts and PE. At $22 net, it's a value for money. (other T-55s
cost $14 or so). Can be ordered from hobbyterra.com. Air shipping is free to anywhere in
the world for order over $150. It's my favorite site, I'm going to place my 8th order soon.

The models are nice and the snow looks excellent but I have a few comments.
1. The snow should show tracks and footsteps on them. If the vehicle and soldiers were there
when it snowed, then the top of the vehicle should have snow. If the crews removed the snow
on top of their vehicle, it should show where the snow went.
2. The title is inaccurate. The vehicle belongs to 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich" and part
of VI Panzer Armee/II SS-Panzer Korps and operated through and south of St. Vith. Bastogne is
part of V Panzer Armee area of operation.
3. The vehicle seemed to be painted in RAL7021 under white wash. This is inaccurate for
scenario that happens in Dec 1944. Panzer Gray was phased almost 2 years before.
4. FLAK crews should have rifles and MPs stored on their vehicles.
5. Vehicles and soldiers should "sink" into the snow not on top of it. See explanation and
pictures on your previous post.

I agree with 1-4 and 6. As for No.5 I think AI has learned from previous dio that the tank and
soldiers should not be floating on snow. They seems to sink at some degrees now.

MM, one minor comment on the snow... the interior cabin and seats are too clean of snow but
otherwise, the trees look good. ( what did AI use? the branching scale is good) Tamiya's figures
suffer from poor head molding. Maybe some replacement Hornet heads would improve them?
Otherwise, good scenic vignette

and seats. As for the trees, AI used the roots of "Saab Suoa" (tiger stink) plants which rural folks
use as broom. Just stick them up-side-down and the roots will become branches. Hornet products
are not available here, too bad.

คิดว่าไม่น่าจะยากครับ ชิ้นส่วนไม่มาก สัก 100 กว่าเท่านั้น เทียบกับปืนใหญ่รถไฟในเพจเดียวกันซึ่งประกอบ
ด้วยชิ้นส่วน 1361 ชิ้น แล้วกลายเป็นง่ายไปเลยครับ มีเครื่องยนต์แต่มองไม่เห็น ส่วนภายในโชว์ให้ดูเลยละกันครับ

ขอบคุณมากครับที่ชม หิมะนั้นคุณ Art Instructor เขาใช้เกลือป่นทำหิมะบนพื้น และโซเดียม ไบคาร์บอเนททำ
หิมะบนต้นไม้ วิธีการคือพ่นละอองน้ำบนฉากก่อน แล้วโรยเกลือ แล้วเอาไปตากแดดให้แห้ง ฉากหิมะคราวก่อน
ฝรั่งก็ถามกันมากว่าใช้อะไรทำ คุณ Art Instructor เลยบอกว่าจะทำหิมะขายถุงละ 80-100 บาท (ล้อเล่นน่ะ)
