Turkey may train Pakistani military

Turkeys military may use its longtime experience in fighting terrorism to train Pakistans army in counterinsurgency, Turkeys top military commander and a senior U.S. official said Thursday.

In recent weeks, the Pakistani military has been fighting radical Islamic Taliban militants in the countrys troubled northwest. The United States views the situations in Pakistan and war-torn Afghanistan as the worst threat to its security and that of the world. "Pakistans armed forces are capable of overcoming the countrys security issues successfully," said Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. lker Babu.

"But if the brotherly Pakistan armed forces directly request our assistance with training and other matters related to countering terrorism, we will gladly do this, using all our capabilities, in the shortest possible time," the general told a news conference for Turkish reporters at the end of a visit here. Turkey has been training security forces in Afghanistan since the early 2000s, but if a massive training program starts for Pakistan, it would be a first. "Turkey has major fighting experience," said U.S. Ambassador to Ankara Jim Jeffrey.

Quick deployment capability

He told reporters that at times of heightened military action against terrorism in Turkey, the military was able to quickly deploy conventional forces located in the countrys western regions to the southeast, where the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, operates, and transform them into a configuration suitable for counterinsurgency fighting. He said that if all sides agreed, the United States would support more Turkish training for Pakistan and Afghanistan. Babu said that in one recent case of anti-terrorist cooperation, he ordered the delivery of night-vision goggles produced in Turkey that were urgently needed by the Pakistani military.

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutolu is due to visit Pakistan and Afghanistan early next week, and the potential for Turkey providing counterinsurgency training for Pakistans military is expected to be a topic of discussion.Babu added that Turkey was grateful to the U.S. military for sharing intelligence with its Turkish counterparts that has boosted Turkeys fighting capability against the PKKs presence in neighboring northern Iraq, but that more should be done against the terrorists.

The general has been in Washington since the beginning of this month, meeting Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other defense officials, and visiting military facilities.

Pathankot Strike
8 F-86Fs of No 19 Squadron led by Squadron Leader Sajjad Haider struck Pathankot airfield. With carefully positioned dives and selecting each individual aircraft in their protected pens for their strafing attacks, the strike elements completed a textbook operation against Pathankot. Wing Commander M G Tawab, flying one of the two Sabres as tied escorts overhead, counted 14 wrecks burning on the airfield. Among the aircraft destroyed on the ground were nearly all of the IAFs Soviet-supplied Mig-21s till then received, none of which were seen again during the War.

In addition to that, The sentences that you wrote about Turkey with high level arsepain complexes do not make any sense around us...

Now, I will not post any national car institues' links of Turkey but I advise you to make a quick search about the national car institues which is able to develop indigenous huge buses, midi busess, merchant cars..etc, I claim that You can find 2-3 different national institue which is able to develop their indigenous models to serve not only Turkish nation but also all people living around the World... I do not mention any Ford, Fiat, Mercedes, Renault....etc institues which was constructed in Turkey...

I do not see any news about future trainer aircraft cooperation project between Pakistan and Turkiye but Hürkus trainer aircraft project of Turkey can create great cooperation opportunities for both brother nation... Turkey TAI has upgraded Pakistani F-16's. Pakistan is a partner of Turkish Anatolian Eagle exercises. Why do not Pakistan airforces use same basic aircraft trainer with Turkey to train pilots for their F-16's... happy.gif I sure that Turkish authorities will give all technology of our systems to Pakistan, If any cooperation agreement would be signed. Tiha Male UAV is an example to that situation....

Test Flights of prototypes will be performed in 2011...

The lands of Turkiye are located at a point where the three continents making up the old world, Asia, Africa and Europe are closest to each other, and straddle the point where Europe and Asia meet. Geographically, the country is located in the northern half of the hemisphere at a point that is about halfway between the equator and the north pole, at a latitude of 36 degrees N to 42 degrees N and a longitude of 26 degrees E to 45 degrees E. Turkey is roughly rectangular in shape and is 1,660 kilometers long and 550 kilometers wide.

Turkey has two European and six Asian countries for neighbors along its land borders.

The land border to the northeast with the Commonwealth of Independent States is 610 kilometers long; that with Iran, 454 kilometers long, and that with Iraq 331 kilometers long. In the south is the 877 kilometer-long border with Syria. Turkey's borders on the European continent consist of 212-kilometer frontier with Greece and a 269-kilometer border with Bulgaria.

Turkish tourism industry has reported remarkable growth over the past few years. The country received more than 26 Million international tourists during 2008

Hey Indian... YOUR INDIAN... INDIAN.... slaves of all nations... Turks, Persians and Afghans have been your daddies for one thousand years... show your daddy some respect.

One Thousand years of Turko-Afghan/Pathan supremacy in Hindustan

The spread of Islam in the tribal belt dates back to the rise of the Turkish dynasty in Ghazni from about 960 AD. Mahmud of Ghazni conquered and incorporated areas of the subcontinent up to Lahore. Ghorid Sultan Muizzuddin Muhammad, with his headquarters in Ghor, subdued the north part of the subcontinent and was the founder of Muslim supremacy in Delhi in 1206. The fall of the Ghorids was followed by successive incursions of various forces from Central Asia. The most notable of these were those of conquerors Genghis Khan in 1221 and of Timur in 1398.

The tribesmen formed the spearhead of the Muslim penetration and conquest of India, first as soldiers of fortune and later as powerful kings, even as sultans and emperors.[citation needed] The Turks were a small band of chosen favourites; the soldiers, and later the rulers, were Ghaljis or Pathans.[citation needed] Apart from the Turks, i.e. Ghaznavids (1001-1186), Ghorids (1186-1290), and Tughlaqs (1321-1451), three Pathan dynasties, i.e., Khaljis (1290-1321), Lodis (1451-1526) and Suris (1539-55), had sat on the throne of Delhi. But their authority did not extend over the tribal belt. Babur, the conqueror of India and founder of the Mughal dynasty, wrote of the empire of Lodis that its writ did not run effectively west of the Indus, and it had no control over the Afghan or Pathan homelands from which its rulers had originally come.[citation needed]

The Pathan dynasties who ruled in India attracted many frontiersmen to their banners."[citation needed] The firman (royal edict) of Bahlol Lodhi (1451-1489), the ruler of Delhi, encouraging frontier tribes of the northwest to take service in Delhi stated:

Hindustan can best be held by somebody who rules over a nation with tribes. Let every Afghan tribesman bring his relatives leading a life of indigence, let them come and take up estates in Hind, relieving themselves from straitened circumstances, and supporting the State against powerful enemies.[citation needed]

The declining flow of Pathan warriors from the tribal belt may be one of the important causes of their downfall.[citation needed] The lack of support became obvious after the death of Sher Shah Suri in 1555.

How are you my Turkish friends, how are your neighbors Ghana and Nigeria?

Turkey calling other countries "barbarian"? What a joke!!! In the archives of history no other country has committed so much genocide and crimes against humanity as Turkey has. Look at the history of medieval Turkey, nothing but war and bloodshed.

Turkey being pacifist now has nothing to do with a troubled conscience, it is that the countries Turkey formerly targetted are now much much much more powerful then Turkey can ever hope to become.
