"When did i even remotely mention or wished i were a blond haired blue eyed Caucasian, and what does calling Cricket a house negro sport have anything to do with being accepted by "white society"?"
the word "house negro" itself is a racially unpleasant term, open to interpretation and borderline racist if not outright racist. I will make it simple, you live in New York, abundant with blacks and jews, go to a black man- your colleague or any random guy and call him house negro. You think he/she will like it?
"Dude how can you compare Yoga which is a stretching exercise to a sport lol?"
Yoga is but one example, Indian cuisine, fashion etc are also adopted in US. So all the whites who practise it are "white caucasians" or whatever equivalent term you can come up with? It is the 21st century dude, come on!!! Dont behave like a talibani mullah, in this day and age of globalisation playing baseball in India is nothing unusual. If we go by national sports then we should play hockey, kabbadi, kho kho and like jat sardar said- gilli danda.
How many gold medals in Olympics and world cups will we win if we play kabbadi, kho kho and gilli danda? What about countries like Japan who play kabbadi, i have seen them send a team once in the Asian games- it was hilarious to watch them compete against India (because of size difference) but they competed well, so are the Japanese now "house negros", "house Indians" or what?
And if every individual has this attitude that we should not play this as this is the sport of a different country then why are other countries playing hockey? Why is India playing tennis, billiards, soccer etc? These are not strictly Indian sports. Why is Indian taking part in Olympics? Olympics is not Indian.
"Ill give you the reasons why i call Cricket a house negro sport, this game used to be played only by the British elites at the time."
So? Chess is also played by the elites in India and later the world over, so chess is also then "house negro" sport. Gary Kasparov, Vishwanathan Anand are "house negros".
Cricket was (keyword being was) an elite game, but are conditions the same today? Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan are the children of a mosque cleric, they are not some nawabs, so they should b discouraged from playing cricket because 200 years ago only elites in England played cricket? People today should still be hesitant to do something because 200 years ago it was not "allegedly" the correct thing to do- that my friend is slave mentality for me, you cant think for yourself but relying on what happened centuries ago.
Look at India today, cricket is the most popular game played in backstreets, gullies and everywhere. Who said only elites play cricket?
"Used to be played over a period of 5 days, they would take breaks in the afternoon while eating cucumber sandwiches and sipping tea getting served by their colonized slaves like Indians, Pakis and Africans and treating them like sh1t in their own country."
Again you are talking what happened generations ago, how is it relevant in 21st century of the events that took place in 19th century?
Every sport has its own rules and test cricket is played over a span of 5 days. A bit ridiculous i agree that a match can continue for 5 days but then people are playing it and hundreds of thousands of ppl enjoy watching it, so why complain?
Colonization is culprit, cricket is not. If soccer was an elite game then the same would have happened, Indians, phuckistanis and africans would still be serving them tea and cucumber sandwiches during breaks. If hockey was a British sport again the same would have happened, the British did not treat Indians as slaves because they were playing cricket, British treated Indian as such because they colonised India.
And yeah, Tiger Woods is also a "house negro" now. Golf is not an African sport and is played only by "elites" even today.
"Why is it that Indians and Paakis choose a sport which was played by the colonial masters and requires little to no physical effort to play?"
Dont mind my vocab but that is clearly you talking out of your arse.
I have played cricket myself and i know it DOES require physical effort. Try bowling at 140 km per hour every time you run for the whole day and then comment about "how little effort" it takes. Have you seen Brett Lee, Zaheer Khan etc bowl? I am talking fast bowlers- you think you can bowl all day at their speed if no physical effort. You need stamina and strength to serve in tennis, you think bowling at 150 km per hour comes easy?
Seen the wicketkeepers? They have to squat in one position the whole day, try doing it for 2 hours. Sachin Tendulkar has broken and fractured every bone in his body- tell him playing cricket requires no physical effort. Tell the likes of Yuvraj Singh and Jonty Rhods that diving to take a catch, fielding in cricket requires little or no physical effort.
"Why not popularize Field Hockey which requires much more stamina and effort to play than this queer sports Cricket?"
Who has criticised field hockey? I say bring in baseball, softball and every sport played in the world. I dont care where a sport originated as long as you have people willing to play and people willing to enjoy the game.
I like hockey, soccer, cricket, volleyball etc. Apart from hockey i have taken part in the other mentioned games. I did not play them because i fantasised to be someone else, i played because i enjoyed playing them.
"Why do you guys take pride in winning Cricket matches while fail miserably in Olympics is it incompetence?"
We take pride in winning, be it in cricket, boxing, chess, golf whatever be it. And who said we feel happy when we loose in Olympics? Cricket in India is given privileged status while other sports are given 2nd and even 3rd class treatment, i agree here. I also agree that its a very bad thing- all sports need to be encouraged equally, hockey is now dead in India because we have bureaucrats running the Indian Hockey Federation- ditto for other sports.
Another bane for India is the abject regionalism, players from south India are discriminated by players from Punjab when playing hockey, Dhanraj Pillay is an example of it.
Vijender Singh winning the Olympic Bronze is news but Mary Kom from Manipur winning the world boxing championship for record 5 times finds no mention in sports news, Mahadeb Deka from Assam won the amateur world body building championship and not a single line about him in national newspapers. Regionalism, nepotism, corruption etc are severly affecting Indian sports ia gree, but why putting the blame of administrators on cricket instead of the ppl who run sports in India?
Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal because he financed his own coaching, he is a bloody millionaire so he can afford it. Doesnt mean there are no people who have got much better talent then Bhindra, just means they cant afford to spend 1 crore rupees per year to train for Olympics. Again what is the fault in playing cricket? Cricket is a career for them, Olympic sports are not.
"Please the people you mentioned "Viv Richards, Brian Lara" come from a country which does not have a dismal record in competitive sports like India, no comparison absolutely."
But they are blacks, and their ancestors were also slaves of British empire. Hell Carribean island itself is full of slaves- so Lara and his countrymen are all "house negros" now.
"Please its painful to watch an Indian contingent of 500-600 in the Olympics and returning home with 1 bronze medal at times and if lucky one gold every 10-15 years or more, out of 1.2 Billion in India and 160 Mill in Pakistan you dont even have a few individuals who can be more competitive than smaller countries with not even 1/4th of the population?"
Like i said, sports in India is run by bureaucrats- not former players who know about the game. When exactly did India send a contingent of 500 players? care to elaborate here.
"Leander Paes is not a house Negro as he competes in a sport which is competitive unlike this stupid sports called Cricket."
How is tennis more competetive than cricket? Tennis is also a elite sport played by British aristocrats and upper class. So why is an Indian like Leander Paes playing it, he must be a "house negro" as well.
"And the term house negro is a very commonly used term here in the US, i dont need BP teaching me anything."
maybe, I dont live in US so i wont know about it.
"Anyway all said and done, im not your enemy, read all what ive said and think for a change"
LOL!!! I never considered you "enemy". I objected to your posts because you made it sound like playing cricket is some form of slavery when it is clearly not the case.
