Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has visited Iraqis wounded in a wave of blasts that hit Baghdad last week and said Turkey
will continue to extend its helping hand to all Iraqis, regardless of their ethnic or sectarian roots. Nearly 30 Iraqis wounded in the attacks, including Iraqi diplomats, were brought to Turkey on Monday for treatment at a hospital in Ankara.
Turkey also condemned the attacks, which targeted mostly government buildings. Iraq's Foreign Ministry, one of the main targets, was badly damaged in the wave of explosions. More than 100 people were killed in the explosions, which took place in six spots, and more than 500 people were wounded. Davutolu said President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoan have phoned their Iraqi counterparts to express their condolences following the attacks.
Davutolu spoke with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, who Davutolu said asked Turkey to offer treatment to some of the wounded. Twenty-six wounded Iraqis were then flown to Turkey and sent to Ankara's Atatürk Hospital for treatment. The wounded Iraqis are accompanied by a 20-member group of relatives.
Turkey, by all means, stands by Iraq because we are closely concerned with the future of Iraq, Davutolu, accompanied by his wife, Sare, said during his hospital visit yesterday. The wellbeing of each and every Iraqi citizen is as important to us as the wellbeing of our own citizens. Davutolu promised that Turkey would continue to help Iraqis irrespective of what their ethnicity or religion or sect is because humanitarian assistance is one of the main principles of Turkish foreign policy.
Turkey has provided medical care to hundreds of Iraqis injured in insurgent attacks in recent days near the northern city of Mosul, which the US military has called the last urban stronghold of al-Qaeda in Iraq.

Loool All I see are empty words. Whereas, friends and enemies have acknowledged Iran's influence in Iraq. You don't think we are going to hand it over to you just like that. Do you?
Just because their FM is paying a visit to a hospital, all of a sudden they cherish illusions of grandeur. How naive are you people? Do you people have the slightest idea how deep Iran is involved in Iraq?
It cost Iran decades to train and educate these people to run the country.

Iraq's economy is heavily reliant on Turkey, they buy most if not all of the needed supplies from essential needs to electronic gizmos, food and veggies are mostly imported from Turkey.
All Iran can offer Iraq is just 3rd world mullahs where as Turkey is actually rebuilding Iraq from scratch again. %70 of the construction projects in Iraq is in Turkish companies hands.

ISTANBUL, Aug 25, 2009 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said Tuesday that Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) might bid for operation in Iraqi oil and natural gas fields.
"TPAO can offer bids in all the 10 tenders and I hope we will underline the cooperation between Turkey and Iraq by winning a tender there," said Taner Yildiz while he met with Iraqi Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahristani.
The Iraqi oil minister said Iraq has the world's third largest oil reserves, and aims to increase its oil production by up to four times with the development of 10 new fields to be auctioned later this year.
Iraq could provide natural gas to the Nabucco natural gas pipeline if Iraq produces more gas than it currently needed, added the Iraqi official.
On Tuesday, Iraq showcased oil fields on offer for development to international companies in a meeting held in Istanbul.
