Turkish minister for foreign trade said on Thursday that Turkish government would extend necessary support to Turkish companies to undertake construction of third biggest mosque of the world in Algeria.
Minister Zafer Caglayan said German companies were preparing architectural project of the third biggest mosque of the world in Algeria. He said 40,00 people would be able to perform prayer in the mosque worth of 5 billion USD.
Caglayan, currently in Algeria to attend Turkish-Algerian Business Forum and to have several talks, responded to the questions of reporters in Turkish Embassy residence.
Caglayan said a bidding for construction of the mosque would take place in the coming days and noted that, "I think Turkish companies will construct the mosque in the best way".
Referring to drilling works of Petroleum Corporation's (TPAO) in Algeria, Caglayan said a bidding would take place in Algeria on December 20 to explore oil in north of Algeria. "Chance of TPAO is high in this tender," he added.
Caglayan said Algeria met 12 percent of Turkey's natural gas need, indicating that Algerian Energy Minister expressed readiness to give more gas to Turkey in case it is needed.
