I think the Germans, the tournament favourites will win.
I don't think most here will disagree.
I think the German team will be confident but not complacent and seek to achieve a professional win against the Poles and also get themselves into gear for games with the big boys later on.
Just to add, it will almost be like a semi-home game for the Germans as they are in their fellow Germanic neighbour, Austria, next door with half of Germany presumably coming to watch the match.

Hiddink - Russia
Van Basten - Holland
Beenhakker - Poland
It will be interesting to see if the experienced Beenhakker can come up with some effective tactics to contain the German onslaught in what will basically be a home game for them.
I doubt it, I doubt the Polish team (judging by previous tournament performances) have what it takes. I think they are often overawed and lacking confidence in their own ability (or to put it another way fully aware of their own limitations).
Polish team is not the same team as in World Cup 2006. Please remember that Poland in qualifications got 1st place before Portugal, Belgium and Serbia in very spectacular way. Any result is possible but this time Poland should win with Germany. It may be great shock for Germans. I have no idea about final result but according my predictions it will be 2:0 for Poland after first half.
PS. For user from Brazil: Poles are not from east. Poland is in central Europe.
BTW. We have one, quite good naturalised Brazilian in our team: Roger Guerreiro...
We need a win to build up steam and confidence. Preferably with a clean sheet to give our backline some confidence. I say 2:0 for us with goals from Ballack and Gomez.
Highly anticipated, but the best result for Poland would be to contain them to a draw, but fight them all the way. Get a draw and beat Austria and Croatia and go through.

Poland are playing like a bunch of retards in the back and the front isn't doing what they should be, working together.
Then again a few things looked good.

Yeah I take consolation that the Germans couldn't score, the Poles did lol

They enjoy the advantage that they are almost at home, i.e. in German-speaking neighbour next door Austria and predominantly German-speaking Switzerland.
As usual they are physically very strong and powerful. Their attack and midfield is very good.
The German keeper hardly had any serious save to make except for one towards the end.
We will have to see how good the Italians are, the only possible threat to the Germans. No way do I think that Portugal can defeat Germany.

Hehe, every time I hear that line I have to chuckle. If you take comfort in that Seriously, good game from the Poles, we are arguably the most athletic team and you matched us play by play.

Poles always support Germans in the tournaments, the only time we don't is when we versus you haha, I know you Germans know this. Gonna be hanging out at the local German pub for the German games, hear some cowbells and drink some pilsner, love you German bastards.

Well the Poles gave a good account of themselves I think, especially if you include Klose and Podolski. lol.
Onward Chartered Soldiers, on to heathen lands,
Prayer books in your pockets, rifles in your hands.
Take the glorious tidings where trade can be done,
Spread the peaceful gospel --- with a Maxim gun.
Tell the wretched natives, sinful are their hearts,
Turn their heathen temples into spirit marts.
And if to your teaching they will not succumb,
Give them another sermon with the Maxim gun...
When the Ten Commandments they quite understand,
You their Chief must hocus, and annex their land;
And if they misguided call you to account,
Give them another sermon --- with a Maxim from the Mount
